Former American Top Team teammates Dustin Poirier and Colby Covington have a long history with each other. They used to train each other for fights, but things are not at all friendly between the two anymore.

The duo had a falling out during the UFC welterweight’s later days at ATT. ‘Chaos’ blamed Poirier and Jorge Masvidal for him leaving the gym. The former interim UFC welterweight champion keeps attacking his former teammate whenever given the chance. And now Poirier has responded.
When asked about fighting his former teammate, ‘The Diamond’ said, “No, I would never fight Colby in an octagon where there’s finances on the line. If I fight Colby, we’re both going to jail, I’m going to jail. I’m not going to fight him in the octagon. He’s not making money off my career and what I’ve done. This is something different, you know. You’ll never see me fight Colby Covington in the UFC.”

In an interview, Covington talked about where the whole thing stemmed from. He said, “This whole thing stems from just, Dustin is the biggest egomaniac in the entire world. I don’t care what anybody says. Anybody that’s trained with him, been with him day in and day out like I have for years on end, would know how he truly is.”
He even said that ‘The Diamond‘ treats people badly and wants to be the big fish in the pond.
