Conor McGregor had the whole wide world in utter disappointment after he pulled out of the fight against Michael Chandler. The fight was supposed to be the end of McGregor’s three-year-long inactivity inside the Octagon, and without a doubt, had the entire fanbase in a state of high entropy. Unfortunately, a broken toe forced the Irishman to cancel the press conference for the fight, and later, the fight itself. Right after the ‘Mystic Mac’ decided to walk out of the fight, pros and fans began talking about it.

Recently, Nate Diaz and Matt Brown have opened up and let the world of mixed martial arts have their final verdict. While Brown thought of it all as karma, Diaz surprisingly stood in support of his former opponent. Let’s see what the fighters had to say.

In an interview on MMA Fighting’s Fighter vs. Write podcast, Brown revealed his thoughts on McGregor’s latest injury. He pointed at the way the Irish fighter behaved back when Rafael dos Anjos pulled out of his fight with McGregor due to a broken foot. He said, “No one with any sense is mad at you other than the fact that when Rafael dos Anjos did it with an actual broken foot, you were a f***ing d*** about it.”

The MMA veteran believed that it was nothing but karma playing the cards. “What goes around comes around. The karma is real. Now Conor’s dealing with it. If he would have just kept his mouth shut, then it would be total respect. You talk s*** about other people doing it and then you go and do it,” he said.

But now, the Stockton resident came forward and defended ‘The Notorious’. Diaz believed the Irishman pulling out of the fight was indeed a minor thing. He empathized with McGregor, claiming that he would do the same thing in case he happened to fall into a similar trap of broken bones. Diaz claimed, “I think it’s just a minor thing, I think they’re making a bigger deal out of it than it is. Good idea, if I get f***ed up I would like to push the fight back too but people would f***ing freak out.”

Thereafter, ‘The Stockton Slugger’ pointed out that people were simply dissing about McGregor because they were inexperienced about it all. But in the end, Diaz seemed to believe that McGregor will definitely return to fight and then, all will be good The mixed martial artist said, “So, I think that, I wouldn’t want to fight until I’m 100% ready to rock too because in the past I’ve done all kinds of sh*t I shouldn’t have done, so I think he learned from experience and all these inexperienced people talking sh*t. That’s just speaking from their inexperience. They’re gonna have to just deal with the criticism until the fight gets done. But I think it’ll happen and it’ll all be good.”

Needless to say, the fight fans were pretty excited to see the ‘Mystic Mac’ return to the UFC and fight with his mesmerizing charisma. But while Diaz validated McGregor’s move, there were a few others who found it to be fishy.

UFC veteran reveals the secret behind the Irishman’s injury

In a recent episode of the ‘Good Guy/Bad Guy’ show, Chael Sonnen seemed to believe that the Dubliner was faking an injury. Instead, Sonnen believed that McGregor was in rehabilitation for drug abuse and alcohol. He further questioned the authenticity of the pictures of McGregor’s broken toe. However, McGregor was adamant on his take and shared pictures of his discolored pinky toe. Later on, the Irish fighter claimed of undergoing stem cell therapy for a faster recovery.

The evidence indeed surprised ‘The American Gangster’ and he admitted that ‘The Notorious’ was facing a pretty serious problem. Being a striker who likes to kick a lot, a broken toe would have been a giant hurdle had he not pulled out of the fight. Nevertheless, with Diaz and many others sending in words of encouragement, the fighter from Dublin will surely return and impress the fight fans.
