Conor McGregor responds to Khabib Nurmagomedov’s ‘takeover’ comment
The Conor McGregor-Khabib Nurmagomedov rivalry spilled over the cage on several occasions. From the infamous bus incident to the UFC 229 brawl, the rivalry marked some of the darkest chapters in UFC history. However, things have been relatively peaceful since UFC 229, except for the occasional verbal jabs.
During a recent public appearance Nurmagomedov referenced McGregor’s famous “we’re here to take over” line. In a deleted tweet, McGregor wrote, “I fight on. Your fathers plan is never complete because you quit and ran, brother. God bless. I’m still here if you wanna go again. But your fear of defeat means you’ve already lost. Run from it all you want. We all lose in the end. Death takes us all. I fear nothing but God.”
While the 29-0 UFC Hall of Famer had the last laugh with his win at UFC 229, McGregor considers the business unfinished and still invites a rematch.
