The UFC conducted the highly anticipated pre-fight presser between the duo, but sadly, according to many fans, it failed to deliver. The MMA community expected fireworks, but what they got was just childish unintelligible banter from both fighters.

The art of trash-talking has only been mastered by a few but tried by many. Despite trying it, it seemed like both Covington & Masvidal weren’t able to pull it off as they constantly berated one another without ever giving each other a chance to speak. This definitely made things dull for the fans who took to Twitter to address their issues with the event.

Disappointed fans took to Twitter to vent out their frustrations with UFC 272 presser

Prominent MMA journalist, Luke Thomas, called the presser between Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal, “quite poor.”

Nick Baldwin said he “lost many brain cells.”

UFC has become a premier organization for mixed martial arts and certainly, press conferences like these hurt the sport instead of helping its growth. It will only leave a bitter taste in everyone’s mouth, including newer fans. One fan seemingly conveyed this message in his tweet.

Bellator fighter and unbeaten mixed martial artist, Dillon Danis, chimed in as well, calling Jorge Masvidal “lame.”

One fan expressed that the press conference saw two fighters bicker akin to pre-adolescent children.

This isn’t the first major rivalry of the promotion, and certainly, fans have seen better press conferences centered on a legitimate grudge.

Maybe this tip can help make things more coherent and make these conferences have a proper structure.

UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman also offered his thoughts.

One fan responded to Usman and claimed that Masvidal would get the knockout win “violently for sure.”

MMA has proved time and time again that you should never count a fighter out based on his win-loss record. However, this fan isn’t considering that as he backed Colby Covington.
