Belal Muhammad is all set to fight Stephen Thompson. The welterweights will clash for a co-main event at UFC Fight Night 199, at the UFC Apex facility in Enterprise, Nevada. The event will also showcase a heavyweight bout between former UFC Heavyweight Championship challenger Derrick Lewis and Chris Daukaus.
Consequently, the 33-year-old has been attending pre-fight interviews and conferences. In an interview with MMA Crazy, the American welterweight talked about the biggest key in fighting someone like Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson.
He shared, “I feel like a lot of guys get stuck looking at him watching him uh suddenly hit you with something you’re like all right and then all of a sudden it gives you a high five and you’re like hey are you, my friend? And then he hit you in the face with a foot uppercut”

Belal further said, “You’re like hey buddy well you just said we’re friends but all right but uh yeah the biggest thing for me is just staying poised and staying disciplined to what my game plan is having the right team around me the coaches that are going to be in corners screaming out the code words and telling me what I need to do”

He also shared his past experience at Tyron Woodley‘s two camps at river sport fighting. Belal also mentioned Anthony Pettis giving him tips and some valuable lessons.
Belal Muhammad vs Stephen Thompson: Predictions
‘Remember the Name’ Muhammad is on a winning train with 5 wins in his last 6 fights. Additionally, his fight against Leon Edwards was called a no contest. Whereas Stephen is coming off a flop at the hands of Gilbert Burns.
Although, In his UFC, Belal has faced some of the best fighters in the division like Demian Maia and Leon. The combos and unpredictability of Stephen will probably work in his favor.
