Achraf Hakimi‘s actions have garnered praise from lots of people. UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is one of them. ‘The Last Stylebender’ was full of appreciation for the PSG star’s shrewd move that saved him from possible financial distress resulting from his ongoing divorce proceedings. Israel Adesanya went so far as to claim that he, too, has prepared himself for any such eventuality.

The Moroccan right-back appeared to be in trouble when his wife, Hiba Abouk, filed for a divorce. When the matter reached the courts, it was found that Abouk was not going to get any wealth out of Hakimi, as all he had earned was in his mother’s name. Abouk thus lost the suit and, in fact, may have to share her wealth with the soccer star.

The Kiwi fighter, who is on top of the world after his first win against arch-rival Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira, shared an Instagram story. It talked about how he was prepared for a similar situation if it arises. Adesanya shed light on how he would like to take half of his partner’s wealth but taunted Hakimi’s wife, mentioning how he doesn’t want half of “Nothing.”

Adesanya said, “Very relatable…Imagine being so fu*ken entitled that you think you deserve what a man has worked his whole life for. When you came into his life with nothing and tried to leave with millions. But like Achraf Hakimi, my assets are protected. I woulda taken half her sh*t too, but I don’t want half of NOTHING”

While fighters, especially the ones from the UFC, earn a lot of money, they also sweat and bleed a lot for it. Thus, to lose a chunk of it to a former partner might be a huge blow. It is probably the reason why a lot of fighters have expressed how they felt Hakimi did a very smart thing in keeping his money with his parents instead of himself.

Israel Adesanya had hinted at how he felt the decision was a chess-like super move in a cryptic post. Former heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, who has exited the UFC, called Hakimi’s tactics a masterclass.

While both Israel Adesanya and Francis Ngannou are single right now, the former is said to be in a relationship with Shana Evers. The couple, who have been spotted multiple times, was seen spending some quality time with each other after UFC 281.
