The UFC has been in the media crosshairs because of the timeless fighter’s pay issue. Meanwhile, one of the latest entrants into its cadre, Michael Chandler, may have provided the premier promotion with the much-needed breath of relief that it was looking for.

In an interview with UFC analyst Ariel Helwani over his show The MMA Hour, the 35-year-old showcased his gratitude towards the UFC. In the process, he ended up taking a jibe at UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.

Michael Chandler said. “They don’t quite understand how great of a promotion the UFC is. Because a lot of them, it’s all that they know. It’s all that Conor knows, it’s all that Francis knows, it’s all that Nate Diaz really knows. They don’t quite know how much better the UFC is than every other organization. How much better they are treated from a medical standpoint. From a promotional standpoint, from a platform standpoint, from a legitimate business standpoint.”

“I mean, you got Tyson Fury talk about fighting Francis Ngannou. Could Francis Ngannou go make tens of millions of dollars boxing? That, to me, is the biggest. That’s the biggest free agent dangling of the carrot. More so than any other Mixed Martial Arts promotion, there’s no other Mixed Martial Arts promotion on the planet that will give you- platform and financial gains than the UFC.”

Michael Chandler thinks Ian Garry will be a world champion

‘Iron’ is expecting big things from his Sanford MMA partner, Ian Garry (8-0). The Irish prospect is coming off a great 2021 as he became the Cage Warriors welterweight champion and subsequently got summoned to the UFC, where he made a dominant debut.

Meanwhile, as Michael Chandler looks for his own championships desires, the American expects the same from the young Irishman. Notably, in an interview with ESPN, Chandler claimed that ‘The Future’ will own a UFC championship strap in a matter of a few years.

I think he will be world champion in the next couple of years,” Chandler claimed.
