Can Joe Rogan be considered a foodie? Well, food for many is just fuel for the body. However, the beloved UFC color commentator likes to be a tad bit extravagant when it comes to his food. And if it’s a date night, the JRE host has no choice but to choose Michelin Star restaurants for dinner. But it’s often the portion size of the food at such fancy restaurants that have the netizens up in arms.
To celebrate the new year and spend some time with his wife, Jessica Ditzel, Rogan visited Hestia, a modern grill house in Austin, which already has one Michelin Star. The 57-year-old podcaster-cum-commentator shared the pictures of his dinner plates on Instagram. In the caption, he wrote, “Date night dinner a few nights ago at one of my favorite spots, @hestia_austin. The just won a much deserved Michelin Star. We did the chef’s tasting menu and it was fantastic.”
The multi-course meal began with a salad and proceeded to a small serving of what looked like grilled beef strips. This was followed by a serving of oysters with onions and olive oil drizzled on top. Then came some salmon, grilled sausages on a mini grill, an apple salad, scallops, and of course, steak with gravy. Needless to say, Rogan enjoyed the hearty and artistic food.

Joe Rogan’s dinner date receives serious judgment from the netizens
One of the fans joked around that this was the kind of dinner that demanded a meal at McDonald’s. The comment read, “You got McDonald’s afterwards, didn’t you.” Another fan wrote, “This is the kind of restaurant you need to go and get a Hamburger after eating at.” This did seem like a reference to the culinary thriller movie ‘Menu’, where the protagonist asks for a hamburger at the end. Meanwhile, a user commented, “Elk burger on the grill when Joe got home after those apps.”
The portion size was indeed the one thing that worried the netizens. One of the IG users wrote, “Where’s the rest of the food dude.” Another fan claimed, “Idk man I like my food in adult portions.” But it was also a signature of most of the Michelin Star restaurants. Reflecting on that, a fan wrote, “Everything’s bigger in Texas, till you get a Michelin star then that s–t tiny af 😂”
