“You Gonna End Up Just Like Your Brother”: Leon Edwards’ Latest Training Camp Update Ahead of His Fight Against Colby Covington at UFC 296 Leaves the MMA World Divided

Most fans may remember the UFC strawweight champ, Zhang Weili’s words post her title defense at UFC 292. ‘Magnum’ opined how “hard training” can make every fight look like an “easy” one. A large chunk of followers also know that several other fighters in the promotion believe in Weili’s narrative. The UFC Welterweight king, Leon Edwards, recently showcased that he is one of them as well.

Most of the UFC community may be already aware of ‘Rocky’s’ next fight at UFC 296. Dana White and Co. have scheduled the event for 16 December this year. Looking at the current time, it’s quite understandable that Edwards has already started training for his next outing. Recently, he decided to share a few glimpses of his training sessions with his Instagram audience. However, most fans presented polarized comments on ‘Rocky’s’ post.

Many of the fans may remember how the noted UFC Welterweight, Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington made weight as the backup fighter at UFC 286. After the event, The UFC CEO, Dana White, also provided him with the next shot at the UFC Welterweight title. Hence, it will be none other than ‘Chaos’ who will stand against ‘Rocky’ at UFC 296.

But, Edwards’ Instagram post had nothing to do with Covington. He looked completely devoted to his training in the snaps he uploaded. However, they mostly displayed the weight training part of his entire training camp. The caption to his post read, “WRKing”.

The comments section of Edwards’ post revealed that he had a plethora of fans backing him. They expressed their belief in Edwards with a number of supportive comments. However, some also chose to praise Edwards’ athletic build. A few such comments read:

“Gonna prove em wrong again”

“Rest Easy Colby. It’s going to be an execution! And STILLLL”

But not all reactions showed love for the English champion. Some fans had grim predictions for the Jamaican-born Birmingham native, thanks to his brother’s loss at Bellator 299 over the weekend.

‘Rocky’s brother, Fabian Edwards is also a noted MMA fighter. Fabian currently fights in the middleweight division of Bellator MMA and is one of the most noted faces of the promotion. But things took an unruly turn for him at Bellator 299.

He lost his bout against Johnny Eblen, thereby missing out on the opportunity of becoming the Bellator middleweight king. A number of fans connected Edwards’ UFC 296 fate to his brother’s fate at Bellator 299. A few such comments read:

Colby gonna finish you like Fabian last night

You gonna end up just like your brother

Well, a lot of fans might be startled at the brashness of Covington’s fans, pulling in Edwards’ brother into this.
