The Jorge Masvidal-Colby Covington issue has spread like wildfire in the MMA community worldwide. Fighters, fans, and other personalities reacted to the issue with a divided stance. Some of them supported Masvidal, some empathized with Covington, and others just came together to discuss the scuffle. Sean O’Malley had a few things to say about it as well. 

The UFC bantamweight fighter is known for his fluid speech and over-the-top personality and outlook. Sean O’Malley is one of the most promising aspects of a young generation of fighters in the UFC. 15-1 overall in his MMA career, O’Malley is making verbal strides as he slowly climbs up the notoriety ladder in the UFC.

Weighing in on the hottest scuffle in MMA right now

O’Malley, on his ‘Bromalley, episode 57’ talked about various topics. One of them included the recent Covington-Masvidal scuffle outside Papi Steak in Miami. Talking about fighters criticizing Covington for pressing charges, O’Malley explicitly commented about interim bantamweight champ Petr Yan. 

While talking about Khabib Nurmagomedov criticizing Covington for pressing charges, O’Malley stated, “Habib [Khabib Nurmagomedov] said that he can’t believe Jorge is pressing charges… If someone comes up and cold clocks me, I’m pressing charges just cos, f**k you!” 

He continued, “Just letting you guys know, Peter [Petr Yan], you f******* little Russian.

This isn’t the first time Sean O’Malley took a dig at Petr Yan. 

O’Malley tweeted at Petr Yan for a fight ahead of Yan’s rematch with Aljamain Sterling, following his disqualification due to his illegal knee blow to the face. 

It wasn’t one-sided though, as the former Russian UFC champion had also had a comeback. Petr Yan clapped back at O’Malley on Twitter by asking him if he was high.

Is Sean O’Malley the future superstar of the UFC?

Sean O’Malley has been widely stated to be a future superstar of the UFC. Considering he plays his cards right and competes at the sport’s highest level. Taking his only loss from Marlon Vera in the UFC, ‘Suga’ Sean O’Malley is likely to be the bantamweight champion in the future.

The 27-year-old UFC fighter is wide and active in his social platforms. Moreover, his ties to personalities such as Jake Paul and other YouTube figures make him stand out from the average UFC fighters.

The more notoriety that O’Malley gains, the more popular he is becoming as a UFC superstar.
