In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Alexander Volkanovski made some serious accusations against the newly crowned champion, Makhachev. The electrifying UFC 284 main event saw Makhachev emerge as the victor through a unanimous decision, despite many experts and fans believing Volkanovski should have taken the win. Volkanovski believes that Makhachev was cheating in some way to get an edge over him.
After the fight, Makhachev had a conversation with his mentor, Khabib, and even Khabib admits that he was concerned. It remains unclear whether there will be any official action against Makhachev. It is clear, however, that there is some controversy surrounding his victory, and the accusations made by Volkanovski only add to this.
Ariel Helwani is synonymous with controversy for a long time. However, this time it was Volkanovski who brought up the topic. Whether his accusations hold any weight remains to be seen. But it is clear that this issue will be a talking point in the UFC and MMA world for some time to come.

Alexander Volkanovski weighs in on the Islam Makhachev win controversy
During the interview, Helwani asked Volkanovski about his and Makhachev’s weight. Volkanovski estimated that he was around 76-77 kilograms, or just under 170 lbs. Helwani then asked about Makhachev’s weight during the fight. According to Volkanovski, Makhachev was around 80-81 kilograms, or about 178 lbs. However, he also acknowledged that he had heard that Makhachev’s weight could go up to 83 kilograms, or around 180 lbs, due to the use of IV’s.
Volkanovski said around 80, 81 kilograms that’s around 178 lbs or so. He said, “I’ve heard it gets up to like yeah 180, like 83 kilograms closely. So it could be yeah like, you know it’s. You fill up pretty quick you know with IV’s and stuff like that yeah.”
As the MMA world continues to grow, there will likely be more scrutiny placed on fighters’ weight and weight-cutting practices. The use of IV’s and other methods to manipulate weight may soon become a thing of the past, as fighters and organizations look for safer and more ethical ways to ensure fair competition.
Dan Hooker’s take on Makhachev and Volkanovski controversy
Dan Hooker‘s recent tweets have caused a stir in the MMA community. In his tweets, Hooker accused Islam Makhachev of using an IV before his fight against Volkanovski, and he didn’t hold back with his language. In one tweet, he could have called Makhachev a “cheating dog,” though he did not mention anyone’s name.

Hooker’s accusations raise some serious questions about the use of IV’s in MMA. They can be used to mask weight-cutting practices, which are often unsafe and can be detrimental to a fighter’s health. If Makhachev did use an IV to rehydrate after his weight cut, it could give him an unfair advantage in the fight.
Dumb cunt thinks he can fly to Australia hire a nurse to give him an I.V and we won’t find out. Cheating dog.
