Elon Musk’s obsession with ‘Doge’ is nothing short of legendary. Whether it’s a meme coin or, bizarrely, a government agency acronym. But have you ever wondered how he sleeps peacefully at night knowing people are yeeting their life savings into digital dog memes? Well, he doesn’t seem too bothered. “If you expect to win at a casino, you’re being a fool,” Musk said about crypto. And guess who nodded along in agreement? None other than Joe Rogan, the man with a well-documented case of ‘tech bro fever’.

However, when the topic of Khamzat Chimaev’s crypto venture came up on JRE #2286, Rogan had a lot to say. And let’s just say, sympathy was in short supply. “There was this one coin that Khamzat Chimaev, the UFC fighter, released,” Rogan said. “They were claiming that he did a pump-and-dump, ripped off his fans. I’m like, man, you can’t rip off your fans, obviously, but I don’t know if the people buying those coins are (even) fans. I think they’re gamblers.”

Gamblers? He’s not wrong. Meme coins operate like a casino, except worse. “It’s more rigged than a casino because, the casino, the person playing can’t rig it. But with this? The person playing is rigging it,” he explained. “Especially if you get a famous guy like Khamzat… to tweet about it and make it a big deal, and then just pick a peak number.”

Antonio Brown, had to chime in. “Yeah, you can’t f— people over. No one feels good without their decision.” Rogan nodded but wasn’t done roasting. “Who are these people, and why do they think they’re going to make money on bullsh-t coins? Like are we mad at the casino when someone blows all their money playing roulette? No. So why are we mad when someone loses their money in meme coins? What the f— did you think was going to happen?” And just when you think Rogan is fully in ‘it’s your fault’ mode, he pulls a 180. “I feel terrible for anybody who got tricked into doing that s—, but I think most of those people are not getting tricked, they’re scamming. They’re hustling, trying to figure out when to buy, when to sell.”

So, wait, he’s against it, but also kind of for it? Classic tech mogul logic. And hence, here’s Rogan, one moment saying, “You took your whole life savings and gambled on a doggy face coin,” and the next, feeling bad for them. Call it the “dumba– of the day” paradox. So, what really happened with SMASH coin?

What’s the whole story behind Joe Rogan’s take?

Here’s your regular reminder,  just because your favorite UFC fighter promotes a crypto project doesn’t mean it’s a good investment. Chimaev hyped his Solana-based “SMASH” coin to the moon. And then? It rug-pulled faster than one of his first-round finishes.

After the Chechnyan born aggressively promoted the token, its value spiked, But in under 24 hours, it nosedived. Accusations? Pump-and-dump. Crypto investigator ZachXBT laid it out bluntly, “In under 24 hours, Chimaev rugs the coin and steals up to $1,000,000 from his fans who invested.” Blockchain transactions allegedly traced the scam back to insider wallets linked to Chimaev’s camp.

Are meme coins a clever hustle or just a fool's game? What's your take on this craze?

Have an interesting take?

‘Borz’? Silent. Majdi Shammas, his manager, ran interference, claiming a crypto group had ‘misled’ him. “Khamzat wasn’t involved and knows just as little as you do,” Shammas insisted. But receipts don’t lie. Chimaev had already deleted all promotional posts for SMASH, just a little too late for the blockchain detectives, who had already pieced it together.

Meanwhile, some guy from the ‘marketing team’ of SMASH tried spinning another version. “We did not sell. We were not the cause of the major downfall,” they claimed. Sure. And just like that, Borz’s undefeated record in the Octagon took an “L” in the crypto world.

Joe Rogan’s take? If you got scammed, you probably knew the risks. “Most of those people are not getting tricked, they’re hustling, trying to figure out when to buy, when to sell,” he concluded. And honestly? He’s got a point.

The Khamzat Chimaev SMASH coin saga isn’t the first, and it won’t be the last time an athlete jumps into the crypto craze with disastrous results. But as Rogan and Musk both seem to agree, if you’re treating meme coins like a guaranteed win, you might as well be spinning a roulette wheel. So, what do you think?
