Israel Adesnaya and Alex Pereira are ready to fight each other once again. UFC 287 will see the two arch-enemies fight for the second time in the UFC and 4th time across sports. Israel Adesanya looked invincible throughout his career but hit a roadblock when he faced the Brazilian at UFC 281. Despite leading on points, Adesanya was knocked down by Alex Pereira. Adesanya lost in a similar fashion earlier, too. Pereira had won twice in Glory Kickboxing against ‘The Last Stylebender’. The last loss at UFC 281 was thus the third consecutive loss for Adesanya against Pereira.

Adesanya has now revealed what’s the most difficult part of the Poatan puzzle for him and what he would like to do to avoid a loss in his rematch at UFC 287. The fight is scheduled for the 9th of April and fans have been very excited. While Alex Pereira is the middleweight champion, Adesanya is the #1 ranked fighter in the division and #5 in the pound-for-pound rankings.
Adesanya tells Ryan Clark about his preparation
Talking to Ryan Clark on the popular podcast DC & RC, Adesanya answered questions about his coming fight. As the conversation went on Clark asked Adesanya what was the most difficult thing that came with Alex Pereira. Israel Adesanya responded,” finding a way to avoid that shot no matter how he sets it up he throws it ten times I have to dodge it 10 times I have to block it 10 times I have to counter it 10 times finding a way not nine times and leaving one chance because you can’t leave one chance with him so yeah I’d say finding a way to avoid that nuke.”
Adesanya seems to have made a fair assessment of what he needed to do in order to break the ‘Poatan’ curse. In his next fight against the Brazilian, he will have to ensure that he avoids all the big punches from the strong Brazilian.
