The Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov feud is one of the biggest that MMA fans had seen. Two great fighters who gave it their best in the octagon during their fight. Khabib might have retired now, but the sourness between the two continues. The two regularly take digs at each other. While McGregor questions Khabib’s legacy, ‘The Eagle’ like’s to point out the Irish fighter’s defeats in MMA.
A while back, Khabib appeared on Mike Tyson’s podcast. It was a delight for fans to see both the combat sports athletes share a platform. They discussed various aspects of their careers and fans got a peek into their perspectives.

Speaking about his famous fight against McGregor, Khabib said, “I was expecting more and you know, it’s like when I go, like talk with him, he give me this excuse, ‘Oh, this is like just only business’. Everything like, okay when I catch his neck and I choke him like, he tap, you know.”
“And I think like, ‘Hey, you bring like thousands people from Ireland here on different part of world and you tap in from of them, like and you talk about like about warrior or something like this.’ How you can tap? Go sleep. Go sleep.”
“He tap and I was like, okay it’s not enough, I need something.”
It seems like Khabib was not happy with how the fight ended, even though he won the bout through a clean submission. He expected the fight to be more eventful since it was McGregor he was facing.

It surely is natural for fighters from the same division to have a bitter rivalry. However, Khabib retired as the undefeated champion and does not plan to return as a fighter. But his close friend and teammate, Islam Makhachev, is also a lightweight fighter.
While it is possible that McGregor and Makhachev will never fight, being in the same division can certainly stir some tensions. Thus, Khabib too could be a part of it.
