Two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo took to social media and doubled down on a statement he made about Khabib Nurmagomedov. ‘The Eagle’ appeared on Mike Tyson’s ‘Hot Boxin’ podcast where Henry Cejudo serves as co-host. Khabib Nurmagomedov’s appearance was met with a lot of fanfare and the video has already amassed over 3 million views in a matter of a week.

During the podcast, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Henry Cejudo were comparing their places in the sport of MMA. The ever-humble Nurmagomedov lauded Cejudo above him in the pantheon of greats because he had an Olympic Gold Medal to his name. However, Henry Cejudo made sure to note that Khabib Nurmagomedov was undoubtedly the most dominant champion in UFC history.

Henry Cejudo and Khabib Nurmagomedov: All-time great fighters

Triple C’ is regarded as one of the best to do it in MMA and even Khabib Nurmagomedov shares that sentiment. However, Nurmagomedov’s dominance in the cage is something that is largely unchallenged by any active lightweight. The 29-0 fighter looked unstoppable during his UFC tenure and he dispatched multiple MMA fighters.

Cejudo made sure to give Khabib Nurmagomedov his flowers as the Russian fighter is considered the pound-for-pound GOAT. The fact that he has barely lost a round in the cage, let alone a fight solidifies his greatness. Many fighters believe that Khabib Nurmagomedov can return at any point and challenge the current lightweight champion.

The lightweight division is spearheaded by Charles Oliveira who has the potential to be a massive star in the promotion. However, despite his heroics, Nurmagomedov’s shadow continues to loom over the lightweight division. It will be a long time before the MMA community truly decide to move on from Nurmagomedov’s historic title run.

However, the show must go on and the current breed of lightweight fighters look game to take over. The division has already produced some exciting fights in Nummagomedov’s absence and there are many more scraps in the pipeline. Despite it all, MMA fans will continue to hold out hope to see if ‘The Eagle’ will make a comeback to the cage.
