UFC fans are still waiting to see Conor McGregor return to the Octagon after a two-year layoff. However, given the record of his past few fights, some believe that he may never come back to fight again. Moreover, CEO Dana White‘s recent comments regarding his future in the sport have only fuelled the doubts about ‘The Notorious’s UFC return.

Conor McGregor was initially slated to fight Michael Chandler on his Octagon return. The fight was scheduled to take place after the culmination of the 31st season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’. However, McGregor’s exclusion from the USADA’s testing pool put him in a precarious position. Now, Dana White has shared some comments that could imply that the former double champion may never fight again.

‘The Notorious’ is the richest MMA fighter in the world. He has been a consistent draw in the UFC for a long time and some of the highest-grossing fights in the promotion’s history. Similarly, he has also made a lot of money with his ventures outside of the UFC. Dana White, in a recent interview with Piers Morgan, mentioned how some fighters change after making as much money as McGregor has in his career.

“You’ve seen guys in this sport when he makes that kind of money, they’ll fight a lot less like Conor has, or they go on losing steaks because it’s just [that] you are not that same person once you get that kind of money,” said the UFC CEO.

White also mentioned that the Irishman was now in possession of everything he wanted in his life and everything that he never thought he could have. This can also explain why he is not taking fighting that seriously. Everything that Conor McGregor ever dreamed of and stuff he could not possibly dream of in his life, he has right now,” said Dana White. He even took a dig at Conor McGregor’s outside-the-octagon antics.

Conor McGregor has often been seen riding his Lamborghini Yacht many times. Moreover, he even lets his fans and followers know about it as well. As such, Dana White mentioned how spending the whole summer on that yacht might have just made ‘Mystic Mac’ refrain from training for a fight. He said, “It’s tough to be on a yacht all summer and say, ‘I got to get back in the gym and start grinding again.'”

However, Dana White mentioned that it’s not specifically Conor McGregor. Other fighters do the same when they’ve made more money than they ever thought they would. He claims that it is the nature of the fight business. “And again, it’s not a knock. It’s just the way life is, especially in the fight business,” Dana White added.

However, there is still no official word about when the Irishman will fight next. Fans will have to wait until further notice.
