UFC strawweight contender, Yan Xiaonan will take on Fellow countrywoman and champion Zhang Weili for the undisputed UFC strawweight title at the historic UFC 300 event. Xionan is one of the most promising contenders in the division, however, she has had a couple of losses on her record.
Xiaonan got her shot at the UFC gold after dominant wins over most of her opponents, even finishing her last opponent Jessica Andrade with a devastating counterright to get a first-round KO. However, as mentioned earlier, she has had a couple of losses in her career. Let us take a look at who the UFC title challenger has lost to in her career.
Yan Xiaonan’s losses in the UFC

Yan Xiaonan has an impressive 8-2 record in the UFC. The Chinese fighter had her first fight in the UFC against Kailin Curran at UFC Fight Night 122 on November 25, 2017. “Fury” would go on to win 6 straight until, finally losing her first fight in the promotion.
The 34-year-old champion lost her fight UFC fight against former UFC strawweight champion, Carla “Cookie Monster” Esparza at UFC Fight Night 188. Esparza would have a dominant first round by controlling the pace of the fight and controlling “Fury” on the ground. However, the second round is when Xiaonan truly lands in trouble as she would end up in a crucifix which would lead to referee, Keith Peterson stopping the fight.
Yan Xiaonan would lose her next fight to Marina Rodriguez at UFC 272, which would end up being her 2nd and last loss in the UFC to date. The fight between the two was a competitive back-and-forth with both finding success inside the octagon. However, given that Rodriguez had more volume, two of the three judges sided with the Brazillian awarding her the split decision win. This however wouldn’t be the only losses “Fury” suffered in her career.

Has Xiaonan lost outside the UFC?
Yan Xiaonan joined the promotion with a promising record as she had a record of 10-1(1nc). Xiaonan finished 9 of her 10 wins, 8 by KO/TKO and 1 by submission. However, she also had one loss in her career. So here is how the UFC title contender lost her first professional MMA fight.
Xionan lost her first professional MMA fight against Karina Hallinam via a rear naked choke in the first round at Martial Combat 10 all the way back in September 2010. She would also suffer a no-contest after her at Road FC 34 after an accidental head clash against Emi Fujino.
