UFC Heavyweight fighter Chris Daukaus recently opened up about his suicidal thoughts after the loss of his winning streak. The fighter talked about how he couldn’t live with the failure of facing two defeats in a row and wanted to end his life “because it f***ing sucks”. He went on by mentioning how the people judging him scarred him and made him doubt himself.

In the video, the UFC fighter talked about his mental health and how he found effective ways to deal with his deteriorating mental state.
How did the fighter deal with his mental pain?
During the times of a worldwide campaign for mental health awareness, it is much appreciated that such physically capable entities are making their contribution. Apart from setting the tone that it is okay to discuss one’s mental health and emotions, Chris Daukaus went a step ahead to also share his experience of dealing with the same.
Daukaus talked about how tough it was for him to cope up with his loss inside the Octagon, “After you lose, the first month and a half I wanted to kill myself“
Daukaus said, “everyone’s just sh**ting on you ‘cause that’s what people do.”

Daukaus also added, “… I mean, you just have to get through that, and that’s what I’ve been working on since my last one.”
He described that even though it is hard to get out of the deep sinkhole of negativity, you can always hold on to that one ray of optimism to pull yourself out of your own thoughts.
Considering his confidence and optimism, fans are certain that he has been training his best and will be back in form again soon.
Ronda Rousey shared a similar experience
After losing the title fight against Holly Holm in UFC 193, in November 2015, Rousey says she considered suicide.
“Literally sitting there thinking about killing myself. In that exact second, I’m like, ‘I’m nothing.”
Even though the now ex-UFC champion was at the pinnacle of any woman UFC fighter’s career, she didn’t receive it easy when she lost a title match to Holm. After the knockout, she explains how she considered committing suicide while sitting in the medical room.
Ronda Rousey further explained how her ray of hope at that time was her relationship with Travis Browne, a UFC heavyweight fighter. Their love saved her from treating herself harshly after the loss. She also went on to share how she accepted that failures are part of our lives and we should learn from them.

“Everybody has losses in their life, but I choose to always be undefeated,” Rousey added
What does the future hold for Chis Daukaus?
While dealing with the mental and emotional drawbacks of a losing streak, Daukaus mentions how he told himself, “you probably should’ve stayed a cop”. What kept him going about the UFC was the fact that now he gets to spend time with his family and how he wouldn’t change that for the world.
