Victories in the UFC typically signify the opening of more doors and opportunities. Countless MMA titans have become household names after winning inside the Octagon. Dana White and his promotion, the UFC, have set the stage for some of the biggest stars to shine through. However, in the case of this one athlete, what followed his latest victory was anything but good news. After his decision victory at the UFC Fight Night, the UFC Roster Watch released his name as the latest fighter to be removed from the company’s payroll.
The Heavyweight fighter had previously spoken out against new sponsor deals and the issue of payment within the UFC. Pay disputes within the UFC have been a widely debated topic. Figures outside the sport, such as Jake Paul, have been leading conversations in this domain. This is not the first time Dana White has come under scrutiny for this issue. But still, the fighter’s cut comes as a shock to many; especially considering his performance in the last fight.

The latest to be removed from the roster is the Canadian Heavyweight Tanner Boser. Nicknamed ‘The Bulldozer’, Boser was revealed to be cut from the roster by the X (formerly Twitter) page, UFC Roster Watch, an account that is known for diligently keeping track of the roster. Boser scored a decision victory against Aleksa Camur in a Light-heavyweight bout on Aug 6th. The victory, however, is seemingly not enough to keep the fighter tied to the promotion. Fans speculated that his contract might be over. Some others said that he was displeased with the UFC. In light of the conversations regarding pay disputes, many fans took to X to express their shock at this development.

Some took on more logical outlets for their emotions.
His contract expired, it's more than likely he's going to get resigned because he accepts short notice matchups, and got a win last time around.

One user’s tweet exuded the general sentiment. They summed up the whole event in their tweet:
This is a pretty surprising one honestly, his record wasn’t that bad and his final fight he looked really good, still pretty young and not on that expensive if a contract.
