Paulo Costa took to social media and shared a video grab that saw him reveal the secret to his success. The former UFC title challenger is seen showcasing his ‘Secret Juice’ while taking a break from an intense workout. Costa claimed that his less than traditional-looking performance drink was the main source of his power and overall ferocity.

‘The Eraser’ has been out of action for a meaningful period and is just now preparing to make his way back. Despite suffering his first MMA loss to the champion, ‘Borrachinha’ remains one of the mainstays in the division. Now, he’s preparing for a marquee bout against Robert Whittaker that could put him back into contention with a win.

Paulo Costa: Getting back to gold

The Brazilian powerhouse last fought at UFC 253 in September against Israel Adesanya, and it’s safe to say it was a long night. ‘The Last Stylebender’ dominated Costa from the get-go and truly showcased his dominance in the cage. Furthermore, Costa’s insistence on getting an immediate rematch after the loss didn’t put him in good stead with the fans.

He now possesses the best opportunity to ensure another title shot comes his way with his recent fight booking. Paulo Costa vs Robert Whittaker was recently announced alongside another marquee clash between Darren Till and Marvin Vettori. The aforementioned fighters will probably play out a tournament bracket with the losers and winners going head-to-head.

The undisputed champion in Israel Adesanya will be away from the 185-pound division for a meaningful period as he is gearing up for his fight against 205-pound champion Jan Blachowicz to capture the light heavyweight strap. If the past is any indication, a quest for becoming UFC ‘Champ-Champ’ usually leads to the divisions being held up.

The middleweight contenders will have several months in 2021 wherein securing a title fight is out of the question. It’s unclear whether an interim belt will be on the line due to Adesanya’s expected absence from middleweight.

Regardless, Paulo Costa will be keen to get back to the win column against the former champion.
