Dustin Poirier, the former Interim UFC lightweight champion, is arguably one of the best fighters on the roster. Poirier has conquered many great UFC fighters, including Conor McGregor, Max Holloway, and Dan Hooker. The American Top Team fighter has won seven Fight of the Night awards. Poirier has also won the performance of the night prize a total of four times.

As of November 2021, ‘The Diamond’ stands first in the UFC’s lightweight division rankings. He also stands fifth in the UFC men’s pound for pound category. Many fans even consider Poirier to be the best lightweight fighter in the division’s history.

Apart from being a professional fighter, Dustin Poirier is also an owner of a charity organization known as, “The Good Fight Foundation.” According to a recent report from MMAJunkie, The Good Fight Foundation will provide 300,000 meals to families in need around Louisiana. The UFC has also awarded him the Forrest Griffin Community Award for his social services.

Our goal is to provide 300,000 meals to families in need,” said Poirier. “With rising food prices, a monetary gift is the most efficient way to help Second Harvest ensure families across South Louisiana have a meal for the holiday. $1 can help Second Harvest provide four meals to the moms, dads, and children in need.”

A victory over Oliveira would cap off an incredible year for Poirier. Poirer has fought twice this year against Conor McGregor, winning both times. ‘The Diamond’ has only lost once in the last five years, to UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov.
