Australian fighter Jack Della Maddalena went head-to-head against Bassil Hafez on short notice. The undefeated Australian had a tough fight in UFC Vegas 77. Jack Della Maddalena was initially set to fight at UFC 290. However, his opponent, Josiah Harrell, pulled out of the fight due to some medical issues following the official weigh-in. He was offered another opponent – Sean Brady. However, he found himself in a predicament again after the 30-year-old pulled out due to an infection. But then, he finally found another opponent on short notice in the form of a newcomer, Bassil Hafez.

In the fight, Bassil Hafez started off aggressively with a takedown. It was his promotional debut, and he did not fail to impress the UFC fans. He and Maddalena went back and forth in one of the most exciting fights of the night. However, Hafez used a lot of energy in his attempts to take the Aussie fighter down. The fight drew reactions from many UFC pros and fans. Both Bassil Hafez and Jack Della Maddalena amazed the Hall of Famer Michael Bisping. It wouldn’t have mattered who won since ‘The Count’ loved both fighters’ performances.

Furthermore, Justin Gaethje tweeted that he had been training with Bassil Hafez for a while. He claims that he’s got a good ground game and believes that he should remain in the UFC.

Jamahal Hill, on the other hand, questioned the judges’ decision.

Moreover, the fans feel as if Hafez was robbed of a win.

While fans may not agree with the decision, Jack Della Maddalena stills remain undefeated in the UFC. His fight with Hafez was perhaps one of the best on the UFC Vegas 77 card. It could have been an upset victory for the newcomer.
