Jon Jones, by many, is widely regarded as the greatest mixed martial artist of all time. He is a former two-time UFC light heavyweight champion and defended his title eight times before being stripped. And three times after regaining it.

‘Bones’ after his last fight against Dominick Reyes relinquished the light heavyweight belt and announced that he will move to the heavyweight division. He hasn’t competed since that fight and is training to get in shape before he enters the octagon again. Jones recently started working at Fight Ready MMA and Fitness with Henry Cejudo and others.

Jones, in a recent sparring session, was wrestling with the former Olympic bronze medalist in freestyle wrestling, J’den Cox. In a video, Jones was seen getting dominated by the wrestler. In a post, Jones said, “Sometimes you the hammer, sometimes you’re the nail. I’m humbled and grateful. Days like today will only make me better. Grateful to have the opportunity to work with some of the best athletes in the world.”

Jon Jones – Grappling match and heavyweight debut

Jon Jones recently got all fighting fans excited after he announced his return to fighting. Jones, in a now-deleted tweet, said that the return was going to be in a grappling match against Jake Hager. Hager is an AEW star and Bellator MMA fighter. However, the announcement seemed to be premature as Hager immediately responded and said that nothing was confirmed.

He wrote,First of all it’s @AEWonTNTand undefeated @BellatorMMA heavyweight Jake Hager, secondly no terms have been discussed or contract signed. We can talk if terms are right.”

Whether the fight is happening or not, Jones is still planning a return to the octagon next year. He has been training with former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo after being suspended from his old gym. In a recent tweet, ‘Bones’ announced that he is only a few months away, and is looking forward to the Ngannou – Gane fight. He wrote, “I’m just a few months away now, can’t wait to see who wins this fight in January.”
