Weeks before the showdown between Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306, the world of mixed martial arts started witnessing the heat from the fighters and began predicting the outcome of the fight. But the emotions of the fighting community turned upside down when the Georgian-American fighter sent forth a social media post that showed a cut he got while training. There was quite an uproar as Dana White branded the fighters at UFC ‘stupid’. And it was all based on Dvalishvili’s Instagram post about his injury.

The picture of Dvalishvili’s cut has been going viral on social media and the fight fans have begun debating about how the cut will affect his performance at UFC 306. When the same question was put in front of the UFC head honcho at the press conference for Dana White’s Contender Series 8, he branded the UFC fighters as ‘stupid’. Needless to say, White was pretty mad with the bantamweight fighter leaking his training injury. After all, the MMA promotion has spent about $20 million on UFC Noche.

The UFC CEO said, “The whole world knows about… I mean, our guys are so dumb, it’s next-level unbelievable. It’s when that, all the stuff that I talk about boxing, what will give boxing, is when something happens in a camp, man, let me tell you what, it does not leak. You know, our guys can’t f***ing wait to throw it up on social media. It’s just, it’s a small cut. It’s no big deal. But obviously, needed to be posted.”

O’Malley’s sharpshooting skills are pretty famous in the world of MMA. And giving him a target right before the bout is indeed one of the worst things that his opponents can do. The reporter pointed this out and the UFC CEO affirmed the facts. He said, “And why the f*** would you want him to know that? It is next-level stupid! Some of these guys are so stupid it’s mind-boggling. It’s unbelievable.”

As soon as Dvalishvili shared the update, ‘Suga’ seemed to think that the bantamweight challenger might pull out of the bout. Weighing in on that, the champ took to X and wrote, “This little f**kin rat better not pull out I swear to god.” However, ‘The Machine’ had no such plans. He promised that the cut was no reason for him to pull out of the fight. Instead, he warned ‘Suga’ claiming that he was stronger than ever. Did you know Joe Rogan also believed that Dvalishvili was the worst possible matchup for O’Malley? Let’s see what the JRE host had to say.

During the conversation with Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson at episode #159 of the JRE MMA Show, Rogan weighed in on the matchup between O’Malley and Dvalishvili. The famed UFC color commentator claimed that the Georgian fighter was an unstoppable force who never ran out of gas. With every single fight under his belt, Dvalishvili simply got better at the sport.

Praising the bantamweight title challenger, Rogan pointed out that the only way to defeat the bantamweight champion was to take him down. And Dvalishvili was one of the few fighters who could achieve this feat. Rogan said, “He’s the worst matchup for Sean, the worst matchup on paper for Sean in that division is Merab. Because if you have a chance to beat Sean, how would you beat him? You got to take him down, right?”

But with the newly painted target above Dvalishvili’s eye, O’Malley can be expected to exploit his opponent’s weakness by striking right at the challenger’s injury. But will it be enough to keep him glued to the bantamweight throne? Or will the MMA realm witness the crowning of a new bantamweight king? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
