Conor McGregor hasn’t set foot in the octagon since his devastating leg break against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, a moment that left fans questioning his future in the sport. Over the past four years, the Irishman has repeatedly vowed to return, teasing comebacks at every opportunity. But as time drags on with no official fight announcement, skepticism continues to grow. Many now believe his promises are nothing more than empty words, and that McGregor may have no real intention of making a serious return to the UFC.
He has recently expressed a keen interest in competing in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) where he is now a part-owner. However, contractual obligations currently tie McGregor to the UFC, with two fights remaining on his contract. This commitment restricts him from participating in other promotions without UFC’s consent. David Feldman acknowledges the challenges and during one of his interviews said, “I can’t [make that fight] obviously unless the UFC wanted to do something with us, and they don’t need us for anything.” But it seems Feldman already has a few opponents in his mind who would be a good fit for McGregor’s debut.
He recently sat down for a chat with Tim Welch on his podcast on YouTube. While speaking to Welch, Feldman named the fighters he wanted to see McGregor fight next. He said, “I mean if you go back a few years. Before he was even partners with us. I was going man I would have loved to have seen Conor McGregor fight Floyd Mayweather in BKFC. Because I think it’s a different outcome. But right now I mean there are a lot of guys out there. But I mean the guy on our roster – him versus Mike Perry I think would make a lot of noise. Him versus Robbie Lawler, him versus Ilia Topuria – I think that would be an amazing fight. They both can bang”

The fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. seems far-fetched as the 50-0 boxer is currently not active in the sport. However, one cannot just rule out the possibility of the other names the President took during the interview. ‘Mystic Mac’ recently faced off with Jeremy Stephens following Stephens’ victory over Eddie Alvarez at BKFC: KnuckleMania 5. Will Jeremy Stephens take on Conor McGregor next? It seems he has a condition for it.

Jeremy Stephens doesn’t want to face Conor McGregor under MMA rules
For years, Jeremy Stephens was best known not for his fights, but for being on the receiving end of one of Conor McGregor’s most iconic verbal takedowns. Back at the UFC 205 press conference in 2016, Stephens boldly called out McGregor, only to be met with the now-legendary response: “Who the f**k is that guy?” The moment instantly went viral, cementing Stephens as the unwilling star of one of MMA’s most memorable press conference burns. At the time, McGregor was ruling the featherweight division, and his razor-sharp wit was just as feared as his left hand.
However, fate recently took a turn in Stephens’ favor, as he found himself in a buzzworthy face-off with ‘Mystic Mac’ himself. Surprisingly, the BKFC star has one clear condition for a potential showdown with McGregor—he wants the fight to take place in the bare-knuckle ring, where he believes he can truly test the Irishman in a brutal, no-gloves brawl.

While speaking to Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson in a recent interview he said, “It’s [a potential McGregor fight] an opportunity that’s out there, you know. I don’t have a contract, like anybody, these Jake Pauls, these boxers, like I can actually do both. I can actually eat on both sides of the table. I could go to UFC because I’m an open man. Like I’m my own boss now. I kind of switched… Like I could do that but I don’t want to fight Conor in MMA to be completely f—ing honest,” So why is Stephens adamant about facing McGregor in BKFC? Simple—he wants to inflict real damage.
But the big question is when will Conor McGregor return to action? Let u know your thoughts in the comments below.
