The upcoming contest between Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier is about to take center stage at UFC 291 on July 29th. While the UFC has promoted the event with its customary zeal and zest, fans are also excited to see ‘The Diamond’ return to the Octagon after an absence of eight long months. This lightweight saga’s potential is what has led several UFC luminaries to consider the fight a topic of conversation. The recently retired legend spoke for a considerable amount of time on the Chamatkar Sandhu YouTube channel. The focus of the interview was the expert insight Masvidal has to offer on numerous upcoming combat sports matches. One of which was the main event of UFC 291 between Poirier and Gaethje.

Masvidal was requested to assign a violence score out of 10 to the contest between Poirier and Gaethje. The question was, “Rate the fight out of ten for the violence meter. So how violent do you feel these fights are going to be out of ten? We will start off with Dustin Poirier vs Justin Gaethje for the BMF world”.

Masvidal responded with a direct but expansive comment, saying,” I mean this has the potential to be the most violent fight. Dustin is literally like a dog, you know, you can hit him, bite him, but he doesn’t get discouraged. Gaethje is almost like the same. He gets hit, and he goes into Homer Simpson mode and he keeps getting hit and keeps coming forward. So this fight is always one that I think these types of athletes, combatants. Have a lot of potential to hit the max scale of violence always.”

Following the response, another doubt of confirmation stood, “So, is that going to be a ten?” In response, ‘Gamebred’ without a shilly-shally said, “Yes, a ten for sure”
