As fans eagerly wait for Conor McGregor’s comeback, Daniel Cormier, the former UFC champion, has some good news for the fans. Cormier recently appeared on the ESPN MMA show and highlighted why UFC 300 will mark the return of the ‘ Notorious.’
McGregor was last seen inside the Octagon when he faced Dustin Poirier. He suffered a massive leg injury and has been out of action for quite some time. Meanwhile, Michael Chandler, who will be facing McGregor on his return, is waiting patiently for the official announcement. Will UFC 300 finally see McGregor return?

UFC 300 will be one of the most monumental events of the UFC, and every athlete wants to be a part of it. Cormier himself featured in the UFC 200, where he faced Anderson Silva and defeated him via unanimous decision. With McGregor being one of the biggest stars in the UFC, it seems he will be a part of UFC 300 and face Michael Chandler on his return.
In his recent YouTube video, Cormier said: “Michael Chandler still wants to fight Conor McGregor. RC, it’s not a surprise that he’s waiting. Everybody would weigh Michael Chandler. So Michael Chandler is a very smart guy. This one here seems a bit uhh there I say you can see through it, right? It’s very, very transparent that he ain’t fighting nobody else if he got the Golden Goose in his lap.”
Later, about when the fight will happen, he said, “UFC 300 I am sure of it I’m sure of it I don’t know it as a fact but he just wants to come back on the biggest fight card that he could be on and UFC 300 is monumental. Like being on one of the like one of the century cards it’s amazing. Jones and I were supposed to headline that and then I still fought Anderson Silva it’s something that I’ll never forget. So I think it will be UFC 300.”
With Cormier very sure of the event happening at UFC 300, it will be interesting to see how the fighters line up for the event. McGregor is coming off a long break from the sport because of an injury, whereas Chandler last fought in November 2022. Will ‘ Iron’ be able to counter the ‘Notorious?

UFC 300- A possible match up between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler
Chandler and McGregor last fought inside the Octagon against the same opponent, Dustin Poirier. Chandler lost the fight via submission in the third round. Meanwhile, McGregor suffered a massive setback and broke his ankle during the match, which kept him out of action for a long time. Now, both the fighters have a score to settle against each other inside the Octagon.

Their rivalry began in the show The Ultimate Fighter season 31, where they were the coaches of their respective teams. There were times during the show when they both wanted to fight each other, thus leading to a possible match-up inside the Octagon.
