A s—al a–ault allegation from December 2018 came back to haunt Conor McGregor. The jury found the UFC star assaulted Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel and has been ordered to pay her about $257,000 in damages. Since the verdict, McGregor’s life has been spiraling downward, as he may have lost out on business deals. Additionally, his combat career too has been on a long pause. Will things get worse for McGregor?

Well, that’s what Daniel Cormier suspects. He is of the opinion that this incident could lead to tough situations in the future. On his YouTube channel, ‘DC’ talked about McGregor’s court case, Dee Devlin’s as well as the world’s reaction when the Irishman was found liable.

“I am not going to say much more about it, but I do know that Conor is going to face some drastic terms. He has already been removed from Proper 12—a whiskey that he started. I don’t quite understand. How the hell do you kick a man out of a business that he started. Maybe he sold it, I just don’t know,” ‘DC’ stated.

‘The Notorious’ created Proper 12 in 2018 and sold the majority of it to Proximo in 2021. Proximo also owns other spirits like tequila Jose Cuervo and whiskey Bushmills, but recently, a Proximo spokesperson shared that the company owns Proper 12 entirely. Conor McGregor‘s face was often used for marketing purposes, which helped it become the third-best-selling Irish whiskey in the United States, but now, the brand’s website does not showcase the UFC star’s images.

R–e Crisis Network Ireland (RCNI) also urged retailers to stop advertising and selling his Forge Irish Stout and Proper 12, as per the Irish Independent.

On his YouTube channel, Cornier further stated, “Hitman, the video game—they took him out… Conor McGregor is going to face some real-life consequences, but my question to you guys is, does he need a fight to try to make y’all forgive him? Or will the fight world even accept this man as they used to, with this being public knowledge? He’s in the s–t, guys, now. He’s overcome many things inside the octagon and in life, but for once, I feel like this thing… I don’t know if there’s going to be any getting around this.”

And Cormier isn’t wrong here. The Irish fighter was added to the video game as part of a downloadable content add-on earlier this year. The add-on will no longer be there, but fans who have already purchased the game will still be able to use it. However, ‘Hitman’s parent company IO Interactive published a statement about McGregor’s character being scrapped from the game after the jury’s decision.

“In light of the recent court ruling regarding Conor McGregor, IO Interactive has made the decision to cease its collaboration with the athlete, effective immediately. We take this matter very seriously and cannot ignore its implications. Consequently, we will begin removing all content featuring Mr. McGregor from our storefronts starting today,” they wrote on X.

It’s clear that ‘DC’ does not think the future bodes well for ‘The Notorious’. While the Irish superstar plans to appeal the ruling, it seems like for now, he will have to face the brunt of the current decision that the jury came up with.

A museum in Dublin, Ireland, made a decision that further puts McGregor’s name in murky waters. The institution, known for its wax figure displays, decided to remove Conor McGregor’s wax statue, one of its most popular pieces. This action came after McGregor was found liable in his court case.

First revealed to the world in August 2017 by his father, Tony McGregor, the waxwork will no longer be kept for visitors to marvel over. Back then, the wax figure was surrounded by controversy, as many fans felt it didn’t have much resemblance to ‘Mystic Mac’.

The National Wax Museum Plus released the news in a statement, which read: “As a family-friendly attraction, we regularly review our exhibits to ensure they align with our values and the expectations of our visitors. We will continue to monitor the situation and make decisions about future displays accordingly.”
