Khabib Nurmagomedov is enjoying life post-retirement. The UFC lightweight champion announced retirement after defeating Justin Gaethje at UFC 254, in October 2020. He has recently bought an MMA promotion, Eagle MMA, and has been involved in many other activities during his hiatus from fighting.
The undefeated Dagestani took to Instagram recently to post a picture of him alongside legendary Hollywood superstar Will Smith. ‘The Eagle’ was visibly ecstatic as he brought out his inner fan. “It was nice to meet you Legend @willsmith. I’m waiting for you in Dagestan,” wrote Nurmagomedov.
Smith is a big fan of the sport and is known for his appreciation of MMA. The grin on his face is indicative that he enjoyed the chance to meet one of the greatest fighters of all time, too.

Nurmagomedov has currently put the UFC fans and contenders in a dilemma, as there is no clarity to his fighting future yet. He feels he is levels above the rest of the lightweight division and there is no exciting challenge to lure him back to the Octagon. A rematch against Conor McGregor might have been a possibility, but the Irishman’s loss at UFC 257 to Dustin Poirier has poured cold water over those possibilities.
The Russian has previously indicated his desire to share the Octagon with legendary Canadian superstar Georges St-Pierre as it was his father’s dream match up. The late Abdulmanap wanted to see his son reach 30-0 by defeating ‘Rush’. But, the chances of St-Pierre ever fighting again are slim.

Will there be a Khabib Nurmagomedov movie in the future?
There is no doubt that Nurmagomedov’s rise to the top has been nothing short of cinematic. From the mountains of Dagestan, ‘The Eagle’ worked his way up from fighting bears to establishing himself as the best fighter in the world. He has certainly made his place in the Mount Rushmore of the greatest MMA fighters ever.
Considering his huge fanbase, a movie about him in the future is almost certain. However, Will Smith doesn’t quite fit the character. Maybe the champion will play himself on screen.
