Spotify’s contract with Joe Rogan is paying off in spades! In 2020, the JRE (Joe Rogan Experience) was signed as a Spotify exclusive with an estimated $200 million dollar deal. But earlier this year, it was reported that the streaming platform had signed a new multi-year contract with Rogan for a whopping estimate of $250 million which also included a portion of the revenue from advertising. The deal also signaled the end of the exclusivity for the podcast with it now being distributed on YouTube and other platforms.

But Rogan’s not just raking it in with his podcast. His latest comedy special is taking Netflix by storm, climbing the charts and showing no signs of slowing down. This success adds an intriguing twist to his ongoing tension with Donald Trump. The podcast host was recently blasted by the former President for his comments about seemingly endorsing Robert F. Kennedy Jr and Trump had proclaimed that Rogan’s popularity might take a hit!

According to a recent update shared on X by Jed I. Goodman, the top podcasts list on Spotify for this week has the JRE leading the pack with ‘The Tucker Carlson Show’ and ‘The Headlines’ by The New York Times making up the top 3.

If we switch over to take a look at the Netflix Top 10 list, Joe Rogan’s new comedy offering after a gap of six years between specials, ‘Burn The Boats’, is also up there in the charts near the top. So it makes it all the more intriguing that former president Trump had proclaimed that Rogan’s star power may take a nose dive soon.

But what started off the exchange between the two? Well, in a recent episode of the JRE podcast, Joe Rogan had stated that Robert F. Kennedy Jr is the only candidate who “makes sense to me” for the upcoming elections this fall. According to the UFC color commentator, “He doesn’t attack people, he attacks actions and ideas, but he’s much more reasonable and intelligent. I mean, the guy was an environmental lawyer and he cleaned up the East River. He’s a legitimate guy.”

However, this seemingly rubbed the former president the wrong way. Taking to TruthSocial, Trump took aim at Rogan and fired off by saying, “It will be interesting to see how loudly Joe Rogan gets BOOED the next time he enters the UFC Ring??? MAGA2024”.

The former POTUS is close with UFC CEO Dana White who recently introduced Donald Trump at the 2024 RNC (Republican National Convention) and has been present at many UFC events in the past.  While Trump’s prediction about Rogan’s popularity taking a hit might have stirred the pot, the numbers tell a different story. Nevertheless, the host of the JRE also took to social media to clarify his comments and quell the uproar!

Rogan claims he is “not the guy” after drawing flak from former President

After causing a storm with his comments about Robert F Kennedy Jr. and drawing the ire of Donald Trump, Joe Rogan took to X to clear the air. Rogan shared that his comments weren’t an “endorsement” of Kennedy, but rather, “This is me saying that I like RFKjr as a person, and I really appreciate the way he discusses things with civility and intelligence. I think we could use more of that in this world.”

He also referred to the former President’s actions during the recent failed assassination attempt as he further stated, “I also think Trump raising his fist and saying “fight!” after getting shot is one of the most American f**king things of all time.”

The host of the JRE ended his statement by confessing that he is “not the guy” to refer to for political statements and opinions. Nevertheless, the waves made by Rogan’s comments indicate the massive reach and popularity of his platform. Now, it remains to be seen what unfolds next in this story but Joe Rogan’s star shows no signs of dimming anytime soon.
