Alex Pereira has been off to a great start at the UFC with a win against Andreas Michailidis at UFC 268. The former kickboxing champion defeated the Greek fighter via a TKO in the second round of his UFC debut bout. Although the Brazilian is slated to face off against Bruno Silva at a UFC event in March, Polish wrestler Krzysztof Jotko took a dig at ‘Poatan’ for allegedly dodging him.

Jotko took to Twitter to claim that he agreed to fight Pereira in February next year. However, the kickboxer sidestepped the offer. The Pole tweeted, “Look at this clown I agreed to fight you February 12 ! and you out here running scared fighting someone else cause you can’t wrestle. Why you scared?”

Meanwhile, the Brazilian had a hilarious reply for the 32-year-old UFC veteran. Pereira, through an Instagram post, insisted that he doesn’t even know who Jotka is, Yeah, I had never heard of this guy, but my businessman commented and we came to the conclusion that he was a total inexpressible and uninteresting opponent.”

Krzysztof Jotko has been a UFC staple in the 185-pounds division since 2013. The Polish fighter (23-5) is coming off a split-decision win against the Latvian Misha Cirkunov.

Glover Teixeira thinks everyone will be talking about Alex Pereira

Alex Pereira happens to be a training partner of newly crowned UFC light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira. The 42-year-old thinks ‘Poatan’ is full of potential.

He made the statement in an episode of The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani. The light heavyweight champion said, “I told, ‘One year,’ I told him when he signed with the UFC, ‘Hey man, they’ll be talking about you in about one year, three fights.’ Especially the way he fought. It couldn’t go better.”

Teixeira’s statement makes sense as Pereira is a master kickboxer who has defeated the likes of UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya in the kickboxing ring. Apart from his debut loss, ‘Poatan’ has been undefeated in his MMA career.
