Merab Dvalishvili has not made his feelings for Tim Welch private. The UFC star noted that Malley’s coach has shown nothing but disrespect to him ahead of his clash at UFC 306. “He was doing stupid and not respectful (things). Any real coach should never do that, whatever he was doing,” ‘The Machine’ recently told ‘MMA Fighting’. So what does Dvalishvili do? Well, he returned the favor.

As such, he didn’t hesitate to give it back to ‘Suga’s coach during the main event, even before laying a hand on the champion. However, Herb Dean didn’t like that even one bit. He stopped the fight, calling for a time-out, which would make Merab Dvalishvili hold his hands in apology to the veteran referee.

“Do not talk to him. That’s my job. You do this again, it will be me,” Herb Dean told ‘The Machine’ during the fight. Will Dana White reprimand Dvalishvili for this incident? That remains to be seen. Meanwhile, the new bantamweight king wasn’t the only one who faced the wrath of the referee because Welch got in trouble with the referee as well.
Herb Dean cautions Tim Welch for his approach during the UFC 306 main event
Tim Welch displayed his penchant for trash-talking when Sean O’Malley won the belt from Merab Dvalishvili’s friend and teammate, Aljamain Sterling. Before ‘Suga’ landed the fight-ending knockout blow at UFC 292, his coach was seen heckling ‘Funk Master’, as he yelled from the corner, “Aljo, you gotta go,” leading the former champion to bite the dust against his greatest student.

Malley’s coach deployed a similar tactic during the bout at UFC 306. However, the move didn’t pay off as it did against Sterling. Herb Dean displayed a no-tolerance approach as he warned Welch about ‘excessive coaching’ after he sounded off on Dvalishvili.
