Conor McGregor is perhaps much more active than most UFC fighters on social media. From random callouts to speaking out about certain issues, the former double champion is a very vocal individual. However, some of McGregor’s recent tweets have come under scrutiny after he made some posts during the riots in his native city of Dublin.

A riot in the Irish capital of Dublin broke out last Thursday. It took place as a result of three children and a school worker getting stabbed outside a city center school. Former UFC double champion Conor McGregor shared a few social media posts concerning the situation, which have caught the attention of law enforcement officials.

After the riots took shape in Ireland, Conor McGregor took to Twitter (X) to express his wish to see a “change” in his native country. He even made a claim that the victims of the riot had been “ruthlessly stabbed by a mentally deranged or non-national.” McGregor also took the opportunity to reply to Paul Golding, Britain’s First Leader, asking him to organize “a freedom march.” In addition to that, ‘The Notorious’ also clarified his stance against supporting any form of violence.

“I do not condone looting and the damaging of shops. Last nights scenes achieved nothing toward fixing the issues we face,” wrote Conor McGregor. As per a report by ‘AOL’, the riots led the Minister of Justice, Helen McEntee, to confirm that they had made around 48 arrests city-wide.

A Garda representative also mentioned that they are aware of the posts and comments about the riots on social media from many named individuals. Those posts are currently under investigation, which could also include the posts from Conor McGregor. “An Garda Siochana is investigating such comments, posts, and messages to identify any potential breaches of criminal legislation,” said a Garda spokesperson. Regardless of the investigation into McGregor, the Irishman has always stood up for what he believes is good for his countrymen. He once even took aim at Ireland’s education minister regarding their policies.

The ever-vocal Conor McGregor spoke up after a report by ‘Gript’ claimed that an education reform in Ireland took shape. There was an addition of allyship skills to the curriculum, sparking a big debate and a significant controversy in the country. There were a lot of critics who expressed their concerns regarding the inclusion of those topics, and even McGregor voiced his opinion.

“Is this true? If so it is preposterous. “No blacks, No dogs, No Irish.” We were bottom of the list. Below dogs. What is this madness! Shame on this,” tweeted Conor McGregor to education minister Norma Foley. He expressed his frustration and disapproval of the new addition of allyship skills to the student’s curriculum.

While there is still no word about Conor McGregor’s UFC return, he’s been making headlines for many months. Now, he is being investigated for the tweets during the Dublin riots. We will have to wait and see how things pan out for ‘The Notorious’ in the days to come.
