Belal Muhammad just secured his name at the UFC by winning against Leon Edwards, and now he is sitting at the top of the welterweight division. However, it seems like it is tipping some of the other fighters a little over the edge. One of them is Shavkat Rakhmonov, who is bringing some possible bones out of the closet. ‘Nomad’ received an offer to fight against ‘Remember the Name’ recently, but the latter refused.

He said that there were some timing issues, but also mentioned that the fighter was not an active champion. However, the Kazakh replied to Muhammad. It seems like a new battle is going to start.

Belal Muhammad gives a snide comment to Rakhmonov

Rakhmonov had recently challenged Muhammad of being inactive, and the latter has responded via X. This has started a series of back-and-forths between the fighters, and recently ‘Remembered the Name’ again gave a reply to his rival.

‘Nomad’ intensified the attack by saying, “Do you have a case of selective memory, or did you just forget that you didn’t fight for 14 months before challenging for the belt?”

Muhammad did not stay quiet and made a sarcastic post. He searched for the word ‘selective memory’ on Google Translate and tried to find a Kazakh word for the same, and it turns out there is no word for that in this language. He spoke on similar lines, showing confidence, and said, “Selective memory? Who’s tweeting for you bro there’s no translation for that in Kazakh.”

Muhammad is undefeated in 11 fights since 2019, which includes two finish victories. Meanwhile, all of Rakhmonov’s 18 career wins have come through a stoppage. Rakhmonov also had some inactivity going on in his past, and it was pinpointed by Muhammad during the trash-talking.

Muhammad had previously given a retort on X saying, “Inactive? Lol, I’m still on trial, and Shavkat hasn’t fought since 2023. I think Shavkat and Usman should fight to find the real number one contender.” This has led to the present scenario of the recent tweet about ‘ selective memory’. Rakhmonov has not been inside the Octagon since his December 2023 fight against Stephen Thompson.

However, he is relentlessly trying to get a title fight, and this resonates a little with his rival Muhammad, who also had a little rift with Dana White. This was because the boss gave Colby Covington the opportunity of a title fight rather than giving it to him. This made him take a break from the sport for a while and even relocate to Dagestan to enhance his training. He trained with Khabib Nurmagomedov, which eventually proved to be the best decision and won him a welterweight title.

Rakhmonov is one of the top five welterweight fighters who was not coming off a loss. So it is clear why he desires a title shot. Do you think he should fight Muhammad best? Or has the boss selected Kamaru Usman for him?
