The fight between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler is finally official. Both fighters have been waiting patiently to lay their hands on each other and the pair will lock horns during International Fight Week (June 29).
To the surprise of barely anyone, the fight will take place in the 170-pound division. Former two-division champion Conor McGregor has taken most of the credit for finalizing the fight. However, his opponent, Chandler, has answered the claims in his style in a recent Instagram post.

Conor McGregor announced his return on his X account a few months back. He even suggested that the fight would take place in the 185-pound division. Many experts believed that the Dubliner was calling the shots in the fight. However, ‘Iron’ has now silenced them all with his recent Instagram post whose caption read, “Who’s doing what they’re told?” The video clearly shows that it was Chandler who called out the fight in the 170-pound division.

It now seems that Chandler called the terms in the comeback fight of McGregor. He shared a clip of his callout of McGregor, where he asked for a welterweight bout. It seems the mind games have already begun for the UFC 303 headliner. McGregor is making a return to the Octagon after a gap of more than three years. His injury forced him to give away his prime years of fighting. One of the biggest concerns for the Dubliner is his injured leg.

Kavanagh also shared how impressed he is with McGregor’s fitness levels. He said, “He’s looking super sleek out there. There are fighters who, when they’re not fighting and after a while, it’s difficult to explain to somebody, a lot of guys watching this that are 15, pro fighting, it starts becoming a job.” McGregor will feature in a five-round fight after a long time in his career.
