The previous year wasn’t kind to Cody Garbrandt. ‘No Love’ lost two back-to-back bouts in the same calendar year against Rob Font at bantamweight and Kai Kara-France at Flyweight. This streak of losses left his fans yearning for the fighter that delivered total domination to arguably the best fighter of his division, Dominick Cruz. However, the former bantamweight champion has no plans to give up anytime soon.
In a recent episode of his Rollin With The Homies podcast on his YouTube channel, ‘No Love’ revealed that he wants to come back to his former weight class at 135-pounds and settle scores with ‘Suga’ Sean O’Malley for their newfound animosity.

“Sean O’Malley, I really want to whoop his a*s. That’s a fight that’s looming. Hopefully, that could possibly be my next one. I want that fight so I’d like to stay at 35. He might fight me now because I’m not in the rankings at 35 and he’s ranked so that’ll be a good fight.”
The former bantamweight champion got into a scuffle with the surging contender at the weigh-in ceremony for their respective fights. Initially, the two fighters got into a verbal spat, which later transitioned into an altercation as O’Malley demanded Garbrandt to square up with him.

The Ohio-native had the same attitude for his foe, Sean O’Malley. Even though the duo were involved in a major scuffle at the weigh-in ceremony of UFC 269. ‘No Love’ didn’t miss a chance to give credit where it’s due. Plus, Garbrandt put respect to ‘Sugar’s name as the latter finished Raulian Paiva in the first round of their bout.
“You got to respect his skills. He leveled up a little bit with the Raulian fight, caught him early on, but we know that. The only way he was gonna win was catching him early on and he did that. He did his job, hats off to him.” Garbrandt said.
