Tragedy and loss go hand in hand and it couldn’t be any more true for UFC middleweight star Marvin Vettori. The 185fer’s brother, Patrick, tragically passed away in a house fire on April 15, 2025. Patrick, a year younger than Marvin, was just 30 years old when he passed away due to smoke inhalation in his home in the city of Mezzocorona, Trento province, Italy.

As you can imagine, his older brother was devastated and posted a heartfelt and touching condolence message for him. But who was Patrick, and what did he do? While we do not know much about Patrick Vettori, what we do know is that he was in the real estate business and ran a firm called ‘Vettori Emotional Homes’, which not only did brokerage for existing porperties, but also built projects from scratch to sell them.

In addition, the younger Vettori was also a co-founder of a padel ball club, aptly named ‘Padel Hall Club’ in the town of Mattarelo near Mezzocorona, where he lived. In addition, Patrick was looking to get into politics and was candidate for the May 4 Mezzocorona municipal elections.

“I have decided to run for the next municipal elections with the Civic List for Mezzocorona because I want to give my personal contribution to the community. I believe it is important that young people have a voice in the decisions that are made for our country. I want to bring my energy and my experience to represent our ideas within the Administration. If you also believe in the strength of our generation, support me by writing my name next to the symbol of the ‘Civic List for Mezzocorona’ of Mayor Mattia Hauser 💛💚,” he wrote in an Instagram post on April 10, 2025, five days before his tragic passing.

According to a report in the Italian news outlet ‘TGCOM24’, the first alarm about the fire was raised by Patrick’s neighbors, who saw smoke coming out of his apartment just before five in the morning. The police and fire department rushed to the apartment, but alas, it was too late. When the fire was put out, Patrick, who lived alone, was found to have passed away. And his brother, Marvin, of course, was devastated.

Losing a close family member is perhaps the hardest thing a human being can go through. One can only imagine what Patrick’s family, including Marvin, is going through right now. Patrick’s social media feed paints the picture of a man full of life and joi de vivre. He could be seen sipping champagne in clubs and on yachts, he also liked cycling and going on outdoorsy adventures in the mountains.

As we have discussed, he was also a veritable entrepreneur and looked set for a good and happy life. Losing a family member is hard, but losing a family member who had so much promise and achieved so much already must be an even bigger shock. Marvin took to his Instagram where he posted a series of pictures with his younger brother along with an incredibly moving and heart-wrenching condolence message for Patrick.

“You were and will always be number 1 my little brother! You left leaving an unfillable void, I will love you until my last breath. I don’t think I will be the same after today because maybe I never told you but my strength has always been you. You were the smartest and most intelligent of the 2, you were creating a wonderful future for yourself and I can’t understand why,” Marvin mourned.

“It is said that Jesus calls the most beautiful souls prematurely to have them with him in heaven and so I hope that is the case, that you are there with him looking and watching over us with that goodness that has always distinguished you. I love you my brother, and even if it won’t be easy to continue a life without you, it comforts me to know that one day I will be buried next to you. I love you 💔🕊️,” he concluded morosely.
