Yet again, Nate Diaz satisfied the desire of many MMA fans by going full five rounds in a bloodbath. This time he faced the number three ranked Welterweight Leon Edwards. The duo made UFC history as this was the first time any non-title fight was scheduled for five rounds which didn’t come under the main or co-main event category.
‘Rocky’ won the fight by the judge’s unanimous decision, marking his nineteenth victory as a mixed martial artist. On the other hand Diaz lost but still won fans approval of being an entertainer. He nearly was about to stop Edwards in the final 30 seconds of the fight. Diaz wobbled ‘Rocky’ by a left punch that connected right after his signature Stockton slap. Edwards somehow managed to survive in the final phase to get his victory.

Now after such a thriller of a contest, fans are eager to see the Stockton born back in action. Diaz stated in the post fight press conference that he is ready to return in three to four months and is looking to hop back inside the proving ground.
So a question arises, Who is next for Nate Diaz?
The Winner of the trilogy fight between Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier
Conor McGregor is ready to take on his old rival Dustin Poirier in July at UFC 264. This is a trilogy fight between the duo with one each victory for both the guys. Nate Diaz would like to keep an eye on the winner as this is one of the biggest fight of the year. Diaz has faced ‘The Notorious’ for two times and is yet to fight a decider in the form of a trilogy fight. If McGregor wins, there is a big chance that the UFC will push a trilogy fight between Diaz and McGregor.
Nate has an ongoing beef with ‘The Diamond’ as both were scheduled to fight at UFC 230. But Poirier pulled off due to an injury. The fight never happened and Nate Diaz went forward to fight for the ‘BMF’ title. Diaz tested positive for trace amounts of a prohibited selective androgen receptor module (SARM) before his BMF fight. This decision was later dismissed by the authorities and the fight went on.

A BMF rematch between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz
Jorge Masvidal fought Nate Diaz back at UFC 244 in the main event for the BMF title. The contest quickly became a typical Diaz fight where he got cut opened by Masvidal, bleeding all over the octagon.
After the end of third round, Diaz lost the battle as the doctor didn’t allow the fight for progress. This happened because the Stockton native suffered a nasty cut above his right eyebrow. Fans were unhappy and wanted to see a rematch between the duo. But both fighters went their separate ways. Now ‘Gamebred’ has lost his last two fights and is looking to get on the winning column. Diaz could be the perfect opponent for the BMF champion as the fight will draw a lot of attention for both the guys.
