It won’t be wrong to assume that Stipe Miocic is one of the most underrated fighters ever in the UFC. Having an unmatched resume, being a two-time heavyweight champion with the highest number of defenses, the 42-year-old, who also works as a firefighter simultaneously, is surely one of the absolute best to have performed inside the Octagon. However, fighting is never easy, and that is where athletes require a support system, and for Miocic, his wife has been fulfilling that role for years.

With all the hard work that fighters put in to maintain their dominance, it is not easy for them to manage their professional and personal life. A lot of what Miocic is able to deliver in the Octagon comes from the never-ending support that he gets from his wife. Fans have heard praises about Miocic’s wife from the heavyweight legend, but let’s get to know her even more.

Stipe Miocic met the love of his life, Ryan Marie Miocic (formerly going by the last name Carney), through his partner’s brother. He made the pair comfortable in the first meeting itself and they hit it off pretty quickly. Stipe and Ryan Marie didn’t take too long before exchanging vows, as they certified their union by tying the knot in 2016. Since then, things are still going strong in the Miocic household.

Although Stipe Miocic has shared pictures of his wife on his social handles, there isn’t much information available about Ryan Marie Miocic. However, what we know for a fact is that she did her medical training at Cuyahoga Community College, located in Cleveland. In fact, Ryan Marie has sunk her hands in more than one field – nurse training, hairstyling, and cosmetology instructing. Some reports also claim that Miocic’s wife is also a real estate agent. However, being a nurse and seeing her husband fight isn’t Ryan Marie’s cup of tea, and she was once vocal about it.

“I’m always just worried about injuries, and making sure he walks out with very minor injuries, hopefully. As a nurse and as his wife, God forbid he’d have to go to the hospital there. It’s a very different system,” Stipe Miocic’s wife told ‘Cleveland19 News’.

Now what about their children?

Do Stipe Miocic and Ryan Marie Miocic have kids together?

It didn’t take long for Stipe Miocic and his wife to welcome their first child, a daughter named Meelah Claire Miocic, who was born in 2018. We first saw little Meelah when she appeared in the first episode of UFC 260’s ‘Embedded’ series on YouTube, which was prior to ‘Stone Cold’s match against former champion Francis Ngannou. Meelah was born just a couple of weeks after her father’s loss to Daniel Cormier at UFC 226.

Thereafter, just three years later, Stipe Miocic and Ryan Marie were blessed with yet another child, and this time it was a boy. Named Mateo Cruz, the former 2-time champion’s son was born on August 8, 2021. We can find multiple snaps of his children on his social media handles, with Miocic being a proud father of the two.

“I decided that my wife Ryan Marie Miocic needed to see what camp is all about today. She busted out an entire strength and conditioning work out with me and Marcus that consisted of multiple 5 minute rounds like a champ. The family that trains together, stays together. Love this woman so much,” Stipe Miocic wrote on Facebook.

Moving away from his personal life, Stipe Miocic has a big opportunity this weekend to immortalize himself as the only fighter to beat Jon Jones at UFC 309. Do you think he’ll be able to edge past ‘Bones’? Let us know in the comments down below.
