Ian Garry has been at the center of attention many times, but sometimes, it isn’t about his fighting career. As tragic as it sounds, once a mixed martial artist becomes a UFC fighter, there’s a huge risk of their private life becoming everyone’s business. And that’s exactly what’s happened with the young Irish star, and it all has to do with his wife and her ex-husband, Richard Cullen.

Layla Machado Garry is a model who is married to Ian Garry, a promising new athlete. She is also the author of a book called How To Be a WAG, where WAG stands for Wife and Girlfriend. Interestingly, rumors of her ex-husband living with her and Garry went viral rather recently. But who is her ex-husband? Let’s have a look at that front.

Richard Cullen was previously married to Layla Machado Garry as the couple tied the knot in 2014 but separated later on. He has been the president of Layla Ltd., a company named after Ian Garry’s wife that hosts a football show as well as features on UFC Fight Pass, for eleven long years. Also, Layla’s ex-husband has been a well-known sports nutritionist for over three years now.

A pass-out from Kingston University in London, Richard Cullen studied business and politics. However, he’d soon lean into the fight business, but ha also helped Ian Garry’s wife, co-creating and co-writing for her ‘Occasionally Unbiased Football Show on NBC Sports’, and ‘MyEPL on Eleven Sports Network’, TV shows.

Meanwhile, it has been alleged that Richard Cullen lives and travels around with Ian Garry and his wife. But why? That’s because he’s also the nutritionist of the undefeated Irish star. But is that really true?

Does Ian Garry’s wife’s ex-husband live with them?

In an Instagram post, Layla Machado Garry would all speculations surrounding her ex-husband to bed. The Irish UFC star’s spouse clarified that her ex-husband has never lived with the couple. “No, he doesn’t and no, he never has. You are just making that up, inventing it completely,” said Layla while pointing her fingers at those who were apparently spreading rumors online. Whether or not Cullen still serves as the fighter’s nutritionist is unknown, but his LinkedIn profile claims that he’s still in business with ‘The Future’.

Layla Machado Garry also defended her controversial book, which is focused on how to be a wife and girlfriend to famous athletes. It was published before their marriage in 2012 and was meant as satire and nothing else, according to its author. Does that put a complicated twist to the marriage? As spectators, there’s only so much one can know and tell.

Even Ian Garry would cover for Richard Cullen as he claimed that his wife’s ex-husband is an “elite performance nutritionist.” During an interview with ‘SHAK MMA’, ‘The Future’ stated, “He is a professional in one regard, he’s also the father of my wife’s son. And I never want to be a wedge between a father and a son. I never want that in my conscience… I understand that there’s a child in all of this and he deserves to be prioritized.”

Meanwhile, Sean Strickland has famously claimed that Garry is a “victim.” He and Garry had a rather brutal spat that could rival the verbal aggressions of Dillon Danis upon Logan Paul before their last match. Later on, infamous trash-talking welterweight Colby Covington also joined in all the banter and had a lot to say about Garry and his personal life.

Sean Strickland and Colby Covington’s controversial comments about ‘The Future’ and Richard Cullen

Once Strickland learned about Garry’s affiliations with Cullen and his wife, things started spinning out of control. The middleweight champion would soon take to his X account to address the issue. And soon enough, Colby Covington would also point fingers in Garry’s direction.

“You know I never talk about a fighter’s girl, but f***. I almost feel bad for Ian Garry at this point. Bro, your girl is a succubus. Sorry, bro, it happens to us all, once. You got played… hope you have a good prenup.” Strickland said in the post. Later on, Covington would go on to call out Layla Machado Garry’s character in an interview with Tucker Carlson.

“There’s one guy that’s a legitimate c*ck and I’ve called him out for that,” he said. “I just said the truth. I said, ‘That’s disgusting. You’re a c*ck and your wife is a vile lady,'” Covington promised to bring the details out to the world just to make a joke out of ‘The Future’ and his personal life. Ian Garry would soon connect with Strickland in his DMs and threatened to sue him. Eventually, the two ended up almost getting into a brawl at a UFC location. Similar events haven’t exactly been reported between Garry and ‘Chaos’, but at this rate, it would not be surprising.

For now, ‘The Future’ has to worry about taking on Shavkat Rakhmonov, who’s on a mission to get a title shot, at UFC 310 instead of any other fight. However, do you believe he should be flamed for his personal life and preferences? Where do we draw the line?
