Ian Garry has been the talk of the town and unfortunately, it’s not because of his upcoming fight. As tragic as it sounds, once a Mixed Martial Artist becomes a UFC fighter, there’s a huge risk of their private life becoming everyone’s business. And that’s exactly what’s happened with the young Irish star. Does it all have to do with his wife and her ex-husband Richard Cullen?
Layla Machado Garry is a model who is married to Ian Garry, a promising new athlete. She is also the author of a book called How To Be a WAG, where WAG stands for Wife and Girlfriend. Interestingly, rumors of her ex-husband living with her and Garry went viral rather recently. All the online thrashing became intense around the time Garry was preparing to fight Vincente Luque at UFC 296, a bout that he ultimately pulled out of due to a pneumonia diagnosis. Here’s more about his relationships.

Cullen was previously married to Layla Machado Garry. The two tied the knot in 2014 but separated later on. Cullen is also the president of Layla Ltd. a company named after Garry’s wife that hosts a football show as well as features on UFC Fight Pass.
It has also been alleged that Cullen lives and travels around with Garry and his wife. Why? Because he’s also Ian Garry’s nutritionist. However, in an Instagram post, Layla Machado Garry clarified that her ex-husband has never lived with the couple. “No he doesn’t and no he never has. You are just making that up, inventing it completely.” She told spectators spreading the rumors online. Whether or not Cullen still serves as the fighter’s nutritionist is unknown.
Layla Machado Garry also defended her controversial book which is focused on how to be a wife and girlfriend to famous athletes. It was published before their marriage in 2012 and was meant as satire and nothing else according to its author. Does that put a complicated twist to the marriage? As spectators, there’s only so much one can know and tell.
Meanwhile, Sean Strickland has famously claimed that Garry is a “victim”. He and Garry had a rather brutal spat that could rival the verbal aggressions of Dillon Danis upon Logan Paul before their last match. Later on, infamous trash-talking welterweight Colby Covington also joined in all the banter and had a lot to say about Garry and his personal life.

Once Strickland learned about Garry’s affiliations with Cullen and his wife, things started spinning out of control. The middleweight champion would soon take to his X account to address the issue. And soon enough, ‘Chaos’ would also point fingers in Garry’s direction.

“You know I never talk about a fighters girls but f**k. I almost feel bad for Ian Garry at this point. Bro, your girl is a succubus. :/ Sorry, bro, it happens to us all once. You got played…… #wag hope you have a good prenup.” Strickland said in the post. Later on, Covington would go on to call Layla Machado Garry a “vile lady” in an interview with Tucker Carlson.
“There’s one guy that’s a legitimate c*ck and I’ve called him out for that,” he said. “I just said the truth. I said, ‘That’s disgusting, you’re a c*ck and your wife is a vile lady.’ She’s selling books promoting being a ‘WAG,’ being a wife and a girlfriend,” Covington promised to bring the details out to the world just to make a joke out of ‘The Future’ and his personal life.

Ian Garry would soon connect with Strickland in his DMs and threaten to sue him. Eventually, the two ended up almost getting into a brawl at a UFC location. Similar events haven’t exactly been reported between Garry and ‘Chaos’ but at this rate, it would not be surprising. For now, ‘The Future’ has to worry about taking on Michael ‘Venom’ Page at UFC 303 instead of any other fight. Inside or outside of the cage. Do you believe he should be flamed for his personal life and preferences? Where do we draw the line?
