Did ‘Triple C’ fire his coach?
Last year in February, when Henry Cejudo was prepping to cross paths against Merab Dvalishvili, he dropped a rather unsettling news. At the UFC countdown episode, ‘Triple C’ relieved his longtime coach, Eric Albarracin of his duties, shaking the MMA community as the star coach has been with Cejudo since the very beginning. The former dual weight champion was called out by the fans for unanimously leaving Albarracin’s coaching.

However, it turned out that both Cejudo and Albarracin pranked the MMA world by making things up. “Bill Belichick, Tom Brady. Phil Jackson, Michael Jordan. Come on, do you think they would ever break up? Come on, man.” Albarracin said while standing next to Cejudo at the fighter hotel in a video posted to Instagram. Henry Cejudo wrapped his hand around his coach’s neck and said, “Just so you guys know, this is the greatest combat coach of all time. This is an unbreakable bond.”

It was a prank, however, the coach, in his conversation with The MMA Hour, added that it was quite real, “That was real. That’s the thing, nobody understands when that was shot, so that was shot in early December. If you followed me on my Instagram, you would see that I’m in Brazil for the last two months with Paulo [Costa] and Patricio [‘Pitbull’ Freire], and building the Broadstreet House down there, bringing international fighters in and building the next generation of fighters. So that was real. It was real.”
