Yes, Yvonne is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, who holds a black belt in this martial art. In fact, Diego Ferreira’s wife works as a coach and teaches kids and adults while also owning a gym that goes by the name, Team Ferreira. Her gym provides not only BJJ training but also other forms of fighting, like boxing and MMA, to name a few.
It seems like Diego Ferreira’s wife is a pretty well-known figure in the combat sports community. Hence, let’s take a deeper look into their married life, especially if they have any kids of their own.
How many kids does the Ferreira couple have?
Diego Ferreira and his wife Yvonne, according to reports, have a pretty enormous family. In fact, the couple have five children of their own, which includes four boys and a daughter, who was born in 2023. A large family comes with a lot of responsibility, and the 19-5 veteran is always up for that. However, there was a time recently when Diego was struggling financially when his inability to pay his gym fees left him in a bit of trouble thinking about how he’d provide for his family. For that, he would ask the UFC to pay him in advance before he fought and won against Mateusz Rebecki. Things were even harder because he also had a daughter who was just a few months old.

“As a family man, I have to provide to my family. This sport gives my family a future. I love to compete, but this is a brutal sport,” Diego Ferreira stated during an interview with ‘MMA Fighting’. “I was focused on fighting and needed the money. I was behind three months in the gym, I had a newborn, so I had that pressure.”
With such dedication to his family and them being the reason why he fights at 39 years old, we can assume that Diego Ferreira would be bringing the fight to Grant Dawson when they step inside the Octagon this weekend.
