Carly Baker is one of UFC’s fan-favourite ring girls at the moment. Most UFC fans would know that Baker doesn’t walk on most  UFC events. But when she does, she manages to grasp the attention of everyone watching.

A peek into Carly Baker’s early life

UFC ring girl, Carly Baker was born on March 7, 1987, in London, England. Even from a young age, the London Native seemed to have had an interest in Peagentry and modeling as she would participate in numerous competitions.

At just the age of 14, Baker managed to kickstart her career as a model by winning a competition with a teen magazine “Shout”, becoming the cover of ‘Tammy Girl’. Carly Baker also played “Caroline” in the 1997, Irish Comedy/Crime movie, “I Went Down”.

Baker also participated in Miss Great Britain competitions and was crowned the winner in one of the competitions, representing Wimbledon. Other than her acting and modeling careers, the 37-year-old was also part of various girl pop groups such as Mynxters, Holla, and SW1. All these would eventually lead to her becoming an Octagon girl for the biggest MMA promotion in the world.

Carly Baker’s UFC career

Carly Baker debuted as a UFC octagon girl back in 2013 at the UFC on FUEL TV 7 card which was headlined by Renan Barao and Michael McDonald. Despite being with the promotion for 10 years, she flew under the radar most of the time because Baker only made appearances at the events held in the UK and Europe.

All of this changed at the UFC 286 PPV event which headlined the defending welterweight champion, Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman on their third outing in the octagon. Baker managed to grab the attention of all the fans in The O2 arena in London.

What most fans don’t know is that Baker was the first European Ring girl who was hired by the promotion back in 2013. She has been the promotion’s go-to person for events held in Europe. And given how she put the internet on halt after a post she uploaded on social media.

Carly Baker is really passionate about fitness. During the leadup to the trilogy of Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards, the spotlight came aside from the two for a brief moment after none other than the multi-talented woman posted a reel on her Instagram, showcasing different gym wears. The reel has managed to garner over 800k views, and 40k likes, making it one of her most loved posts by fight fans.

Baker also seems to be a gymrat as during an interview with “Coachweb”, she explained her love for working out. During the interview, she mentioned her workout routine. She voiced, “Fitness is my biggest passion so I hit the gym four or five days a week, six if I can. As a qualified personal trainer I know what I’m doing and though I love cardio, I also do a lot of resistance training. You don’t see many women hitting the weights, but they’re amazing for building functional strength and burning fat. I like switching up sessions every time but the common theme is going hard and getting my heart rate up.”

The 38-year-old’s love for physical fitness is palpable, as she is usually found promoting her classes. This brings us to everything that Baker does aside from being an Octagon girl for the UFC.

Carly Baker’s career apart from the UFC

As well as Carly Baker being one of the UFC’s most popular ring girls, she also has quite a lot of things going for her outside of Dana White‘s Promotion. Baker joined the promotion with a decent resume, accomplishing quite several modeling and acting jobs before signing with the UFC.

Baker has acted in movies such as “I Went Down”, voice acted for  “The Flight Before Christmas”, and was the ring girl in “Coral: Money Back If Your Horse Is Beaten by a Head or Less”. Barker also made cameos in a popular TV show, “Wentworth”.

The London native is also a certified fitness trainer and holds great pride in her physique and work ethic. Carly Baker is also an online coach and has her own website called “CalryBakerFitness” where she provides online coaching and personal training.
