Brazilian flyweight Bruna Brasil has been a professional since 2014, amassing a record of 10-4-1. An alum of Dana White’s Contender Series, ‘The Special One’ made her UFC debut in 2023 and has a promotional record of 2-2, winning her last fight against Molly McCann in dominating fashion. She will now clock in her fifth promotional bout against dangerous Chinese striker Wang Cong in the prelims of UFC 312.

Bruna Brasil was born on September 7th, 1993 in Paranavai, Parana, Brazil. A member of team ‘Fighting Nerds’ team, she is part of the hottest new fight camp in the block and often shares her admiration of her team through her social handles.

The most unique relationship she has is with her head coach UFC middleweight contender Caio Borralho. “Caio is a great friend of mine,”, Brasil informed MMA Fighting. “It was quite different to bring a friend to my camp. He’s very strict as a coach, he demands a lot from me both physically and mentally, but at the same time, he has such good energy. Everything is smooth with him. Hard things are much easier with him.”

The former administrative assistant loves her family, video games, and her adorable dog, but she also flaunts her love for her coaches. Her confidence is contagious and inherent and she draws her motivation from her teammates at Fighting Nerds in Sao Paulo. The team had quite a huge breakout in 2024 from Caio Borralho’s ascension in the middleweight division to Carlos Prates’ breakout performances at welterweight.

Even Jean Silva and Mauricio Ruffy made huge waves in their divisions. Brasil, too, brought home a victory thanks to her win at UFC 304. “We motivate each other,” she said to UFC. “We inspire each other. The more successful people you have by your side, you naturally get inspired, so that’s how I feel. The more successful we are, the more successful the team will be. What makes a team great is when one inspires the other.”

Ahead of her most difficult challenge in Wang Cong at UFC 312, she told the promotion, “I’m very excited to face her and to show everybody my skills once again.” Brasil said she plans to return to the strawweight division after this fight because of the physical pressure of fighting at flyweight as she doesn’t have the muscle density to fight at 125 lbs. “I’m glad to be experiencing all of this,” she said. “I’m feeling comfortable.”
