Arnold ‘Almighty’ Allen grew up in a home where sports held a central place. His father, Pace Allen, was a traveling strongman, who put the seeds of an athletic career in the young Englishman’s mind. This would lead him on a journey where he eventually became a mixed martial artist and quite a good one at that.
Allen lost just one fight prior to coming into the UFC. His first UFC loss, which is nothing to be ashamed of, came against the legendary Max Holloway, one of the greatest featherweights in mixed martial arts history, back in April 2023. Before this loss, ‘Almighty’ was on a 10-fight winning streak in the promotion and 12-fight streak overall. While he went on to suffer a second consecutive loss in his next fight against Movsar Evloev, the Ipswich native took it in stride. Determined to bounce back strongly, his gym, coaches, and teammates are some of the biggest factors in his success so far.

Arnold Allen has been training in two gyms since 2022. His home gym is the BKK Fighters gym in Colchester, UK. The other is the famous Tristar Gym in Quebec, Canada. He has had quite an amazing pool of trainers in both.
Team Tristar, of course, is filled with talented trainers such as the BJJ coach, Pierre-Olivier Leclercq, Rob Rivest, Firas Zahabi, and Lentz Edouard Lundy to name a few. Nevertheless, for this fight camp, it looks like Allen has been perfecting his striking with legendary Muay Thai coach, Ian Perron. The two have been posting their workouts on social media.

To prepare for his fights, the Englishman likes to enlist fighters who emulate his opponent stylistically, size-wise, and in how they fight. The latest example of this came before the Englishman’s fight against Movsar Evloev in 2024 when Allen managed to put in quite an impressive team around him to prepare.
The 29-year-old trained with decorated Iranian wrestler Mehdi Zeivand. UFC bantamweight, Aiemann Zahabi, and professional MMA fighter, Xavier Alaoui, to name a few. While he ultimately lost the fight, Allen made sure he had the best preparation possible for the undefeated fighter. This wouldn’t have been possible without his excellent coaches and team around him.
