Jalin ‘the Tarantula’ Turner is set to take on Bobby Green in the co-main event of UFC fight night: Dariush vs. Tsarukyan. ‘The Tarantula’ stepped in on short notice to replace Dan Hooker after he suffered an injury. It’s not easy for fighters to compete without a proper training camp, let alone win.
Jalin Turner is quite an exceptional fighter, especially in the lightweight division, due to his tall frame that towers over his competition. He is undoubtedly an exciting fighter to watch. While his record of 13 wins and 7 losses in 20 fights might not sound impressive to many, however, the 13 wins he has accumulated were all won by finishes. Here are the details on Turner’s seven losses in his MMA career.

Turner suffered his first defeat in his 3rd fight at the hands of Ronnie Borja via TKO in the first round in just 11 seconds at CFL: California Fight League 8. The fourth fight of Turner’s career was a competitive 3-round fight where he lost to a split decision against Andrew Lagdaan at Smash Global 4: Fight Bullying. However, this would not hamper his next two fights as he would win both fights, via stoppage in the first round.
However, his 7th fight wouldn’t be as lucky as he suffered a 3rd-round TKO loss against Richard LeRoy at CXF 8. Turner won the next three fights via 1st round finishes, which earned him a contract with the UFC.
But Jalin Turner faced high competition in his debut in the UFC. For his 11th professional MMA fight, He faced off against Vicente Luque at UFC 229, where he lost via first-round knockout. He would win the next fight against Callan Potter. But he would lose his next fight against Matt Frevola at UFC 236 by unanimous decision.
‘The Tarantula’ would go on to win the next five of his fights via finishes but would go on to lose his next two against Mateusz Gamrot at UFC 285 and Dan Hooker at UFC 290 via split decisions. Jalin Turner is still only 28 years old, so we can be sure that he still hasn’t hit his peak. Turner’s next fight is against Bobby Green, who is a seasoned veteran of the sport. So hopefully Turner will learn a lot from his prior defeats.

Bobby Green revealed that he wasn’t expecting Turner to step up as Hooker’s replacement. However, Green claimed that it wouldn’t change the way he fights inside the Octagon. Currently, Turner seems to be a slight favorite over Bobby Green.
Which is weird considering Green is on a two-fight win streak with finishes over Tony Ferguson and Grant Dawson. Whereas Jalin Turner is on a 2 fight-losing streak against Mateusz Gamrot and Dan Hooker.
