Chandler turned the tables in the second round. The credential wrestler took the fight to the mat and dominated on the ground. However, Poirier survived and came back strong in the third round. Another botched takedown from ‘Iron’ provided the former UFC interim lightweight champion the opportunity to take the back and secure the submission.

“Of course,” Poirier said when Joe Rogan asked if he was in trouble.

“Who ain’t got jiujitsu,” ‘The Diamond’ took a dig at the current UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev after the RNC finish of the top lightweight contender.

The bout between Alexander Volkanovski and Islam Makhachev is already scheduled for UFC Australia PPV. Hence, Dustin Poirier will need to wait for his opportunity at the lightweight title.
