Robert Whittaker is an absolute beast inside the octagon. The fighter has put up some amazing performances and has exhibited remarkable skills in his fights. Whittaker is a former UFC Middleweight Champion and is now set to have another crack at the belt in February.

Whittaker is extremely skilled in his striking ability and has knocked out established fighters such as Derek Brunson and Ronaldo Souza. He is also an excellent wrestler. Prior to his career as a mixed martial artist, Robert was a gold-winning freestyle wrestler.

In an episode of Joe Rogan’s podcast show, Rogan discussed the strength and power of Robert Whittaker with the middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya.

Rogan said, “Whittaker’s an animal man. Just thinking about how much pain that guy had to be in, and almost fight with a hernia and a ruptured… he had a ruptured rectum, right?”

“But then you look at Whittaker who’s 85 (lbs), he’s not huge. He’s stalking, but he’s not like huge. He’s like the perfect size, Whittaker, because he still can knock out anybody, but he’s got awesome cardio. He’s strong. I mean, he’s not as strong as Yoel Romero, but he’s strong enough to hold him off, added Joe.”

Many consider Yoel Romero to be one of the strongest fighters on the roster. Whittaker has outclassed Yoel Romero not once, but twice. Whittaker won one fight by a unanimous decision and one fight via split decision.

What’s next for Robert Whittaker?

Robert Whittaker will be back in UFC action next month. He will take on the current middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, at UFC 271. “The Reaper” will challenge the champion for his belt. The UFC 271 event will take place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

This will be the second time Whittaker will take on Israel Adesanya in a title bout at the UFC.
