While Training in a Boxing Gym, Matthew McConaughey’s Neighbor Joe Rogan Recalls Meeting Nicholas Cage: “Super Nice Guy”

Joe Rogan has become one of the most influential people over the past couple of years due to his successful podcast, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast. He is popular among fans for inviting guests from various walks of life. Actor and comedian Pauly Shore joined Joe Rogan in a recent episode of his podcast as the 55-year-old recalled meeting Hollywood legend, Nicholas Cage.

The UFC color commentator is just a few episodes away from completing two thousand episodes of his million-dollar JRE podcast. He and Shore recently shared their stories about meeting and knowing Hollywood star Nicholas Cage.

Joe Rogan talks met Nicholas Cage in a boxing gym

Pauly Shore mentioned that Nicholas Cage used to be his Las Vegas neighbor. He asked Joe Rogan if he’d ever consider inviting the Academy Award winner on his podcast. The 55-year-old said, “I would love to ham him on. I love that guy.” Rogan added, “He’s awesome. I saw a video they did about his house in Vegas. He’s awesome. I love that guy.” 

Joe Rogan reiterated the story of when he met Cage in a boxing gym with his son. It appeared to be a nice experience for him as he lauded the Hollywood star for being a nice person. “I met him once a long time ago in a boxing gym. He was there with his son [and] his son was taking lessons at this boxing gym that I used to work in Hollywood,” said the 55-year-old. He added, “Super nice guy.”

Pauly Shore shares his experience with Cage

Shore mentions that he and the ‘National Treasure’ star went to the same high school. They did go on to become good friends, but it was strange for Pauly Shore because he was more of a fan than a friend of Nicholas Cage at that point in time. He said, “When we connected [him and Nicholas Cage] it was weird because I am like you [Rogan], a huge fan. And he’s been doing it for forty years.”

He then recalls Cage calling him out to go out and have something to eat in fancy cars. “He’ll hit me up and he’ll be like, ‘Yo, come out. Let’s go,'” said Pauly Shore. He added, “He will be in his 500,000 dollar Ferarri [and] I’m like, ‘Where are we going?’ He’s, like, ‘We’re gonna get some sushi.”

In the past, Joe Rogan described Hollywood as a crazy place. He said that actors shape their personalities to suit the people who cast them in movies during an earlier episode of his podcast. However, it seems as if he doesn’t feel the same about Nicholas Cage, who still remains one of the biggest stars with a resume that only a few elite actors possess.

Interestingly, Rogan was also neighbors with Hollywood A-lister Matthew McConaughey, both of whom live in Texas.
