Floyd Mayweather is arguably one of the greatest boxers ever. He boasted a record of 50 wins without any draws or losses, which is a record that, most likely, won’t be broken. ‘Money’ has also made a lot of money from his fights, including one with UFC superstar Conor McGregor, which became one of the biggest money fights in boxing history. Hollywood star and renowned martial artist Michael Jai White had some words of praise for the Hall of Fame boxer.

Floyd Mayweather has won fifteen major world championships in boxing. In addition to grabbing a bronze medal at the 1996 Olympics, ‘Money’ has been a boxing champion in several weight divisions.

Ever since Mayweather’s last legitimate fight against the ‘Notorious’ Conor McGregor, he has been on participating in exhibition fights with social media influencers, professional mixed martial artists, and a few lesser-known boxers. Hollywood star Michael Jai White has praised Mayweather for adopting a smart strategy. He said, “Mayweather does some smart things.”

White also added that ‘Money’ chooses to fight people who can garner the interest of viewers and boxing fans around the world. This was in relation to his finding out that the former boxing world champion will be taking on John Gotti III, who is the grandson of the infamous American gangster and boss of the Gambino crime family, John Gotti. Michael Jai White added, “He [Mayweather] knows that if that name brings attention [or not]. There you go.”

White claims ‘Money’ has done really well after his retirement

Floyd Mayweather will participate in his seventh exhibition bout since starting his post-retirement venture in 2018. When asked if the former boxing world champion would consider facing an opponent who can potentially do some harm to him, Michael Jai White believes that Mayweather could emerge victorious if he takes on a serious opponent. He said, Man, you’re talking about an old guy who’s kept up pretty well.”

White added, “I kind of feel Mayweather was so far ahead of the rest of the pack that he could legitimately fight somebody and still win.” He further explained why he thinks Mayweather can still put on a winning performance. “If there’s anybody who could still fight and win, it’s that guy. Because it’s the intellect to me, right? He is so far ahead of everybody, just psychologically… he’s playing chess and other people are playing checkers,” said Michael Jai White.

The World Boxing will reward Council Floyd Mayweather with a Juneteenth-themed WBC belt at his fight against John Gotti III. The reward is a token of gratitude to ‘Money’ for his immense achievements and glory inside the boxing squared circle. Furthermore, Floyd Mayweather is still going strong at the age of 46 and doesn’t look like he’ll stop anytime soon.
